VIDALIA — Funeral services for Charles E. Bowman, 83, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dave Lender officiating.

Burial will follow at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery in Lincoln County under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and noon until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bowman was born Oct. 15, 1933, in Franklin County, the son of Charlie I. Bowman and Ollie Wilson Bowman.

He was a member of the Church of God in Natchez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irma Bowman; five brothers, Charlie C. Bowman, James C. Bowman, Kenneth L. Bowman, Lonzo Bowman and Willie Bowman; and two sisters, Aleen Goldman and Ruby Prather.

Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Lee of Jackson and Nell Martin of Pearl, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Charles Lee, David Lambert, Joey Martin, Elmer Johnson, Henry Wilson and Neal Chandler.

Honorary pallbearer will be Keith Lambert.
