CENTREVILLE — Services for Johnnie Ruth Vaughan Green, 86, formally of Vidalia, who died on March 30, 2017 at her son’s residence in Baton Rouge will be at noon Wednesday at Centreville United Methodist Church, 258 E. Howard St., in Centreville.  

Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Centreville under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Green was the salutatorian of the William Winans High School Class of 1949 in Centreville. She graduated from Louisiana State University in 1953 with a bachelor of science in zoology.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Edna Vaughan of Centerville; her husband, Lt. Colonel Robert L. Green, USAR and her brother Jimmy.

Survivors include her son Joseph Thomas Green, and his wife, Carolyn, of Baton Rouge; her daughter Edna Mayfield Green of Shreveport, La.; her two grandchildren, Jeffrey Green and wife, Sunny, and Matthew Green; her brothers Cecil Vaughan and wife, Sue, of Norwood, La., and Bobby Vaughan and wife, Lea, of Metairie, La.;  her sister Nancy Riddle of Zachary, La.; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
