GLOSTER — Services for Cage “C.J.” Ashley Jr., 89, a lifelong residence of Crosby, who died Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Field Health Systems in Centreville, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Gloster.

Burial will follow at the Ashley Family Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ashley was born April 5, 1928, in Wilkinson County, the son of Cage Ashley Sr. and Lucy Evelyn Ogden Ashley.

He was retired from National Supply Company in Natchez and from his own oil field supply company, A and P Supply in Natchez. C.J. was a member of Perrytown Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Pecanty Ashley; two sons, Edward Gene Ashley and Cage Phillip Ashley; one great-granddaughter, Charlee Estis; one brother, William Norris Ashley; and one sister, Frances “Mutt” Whitehead.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas Ashley and wife, Jackie, Tim Ashley and wife, Sonia, and Patrick Ashley and wife, Ruth Ann; one daughter-in-law, Diane Ashley; 16 grandchildren, John Michael, James Christopher, Emily, Erin, Eli, Hannah, Kristina, Dawn, Kayla, Diana, Alyssa, Cage, Phillip, Nathan, Andrew and Jessica; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia McFatteer; and one brother, John Kermit Ashley.

Pallbearers will be John Michael, Phillip, Nathan, Andrew, Cage, Eli, Brandon Aldridge, Dane Hogan, Joe Molnar, Greg Stokes, Mathew Perkins and Jordan James.
