Kameron Morgan ran for two long touchdowns and the Natchez Falcons defense stood tall as it defeated the Warren Central Ravens 14-0 Saturday in a 6-8 year old youth football game at Natchez High School.

“We played pretty decent considering we weren’t able to practice any (this week) because of the rain,” Falcons coach Dac Gaylor said. “They just went off what they know. They went off what we’ve already been teaching them.”

Morgan got the scoring started on the last play of the first quarter after he dashed around the right end and outraced the Ravens defense for a 77-yard score.

The do-it-all athlete had a similar run late in the third, but this time around the left end for a 70-yard touchdown.

“He’s a great athlete. He’s been on the team since he was 5 years old,” Gaylor said. “He’s been around for four years. He’s real familiar with the sport. He’s a young veteran.”

Not only were the Falcons defense stingy Saturday, but also opportunistic as they recovered a pair of Ravens fumbles.

“That’s what we thrive off, the defense,” Gaylor said. “Our goal is that if we can score six points, then keep the other team from scoring, then that’s a win.”

Derrick Byrd added a two-point rushing score following Morgan’s second TD run.

The win improves the Falcons to 2-0 on the season.
