Wedding: Murphy and Washington

Stephanie Nicole Washington and Stacy Duane Murphy were married recently in a civil ceremony in Natchez.

Parents of the couple are Ms. Evelyn Jean Washington and the late George Hunter of Ferriday and Dr. and Mrs. Henry Murphy of Natchez.

A reception honoring the couple will be at the Natchez Shrine Club on Morgantown Road on Aug. 18, 2007, at 6 p.m.

Family and friends are invited.

Wedding: Arthur and Woodruff

Kristy Deann Woodruff of Monterey and Brannon Ray Arthur of Ferriday were married Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church, in Ferriday, with the Rev. Barry Dennis officiating.

Parents of the couple are Lamon and Donna Woodruff of Monterey and Morris and Pam Arthur of Ferriday.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Sylvia Ritchie, Dan Troutman and Teresa Tiffee.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Lamon Woodruff. She wore a silk, satin V-neck gown with 4-inch satin ribbon around the waist. A diamond Fleur de lis brooch accented the center of the bow. The headdress was an elbow-length cascade veil by Toni Federici trimmed in white satin.

Karlee Woodruff of Monterey served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sheree’ Cramer of Ruston, Sara Dallalio of Denham Springs, Sylvia Moak of Ferriday, Carrie Rocconi of Monroe and Katie Smith of Vidalia. They wore strapless, tea-length black satin dresses by Bill Levkoff.

Rachel Fowler and Allie Lipsey, both of Monterey, were flower girls.

Barrett Arthur of Ferriday was best man. Groomsmen were Doug Smith of Vidalia, Noah Wilson and Wayne Wilson, both of Ferriday, Cam McCartney of Jena and Ryan Crum of Denham Springs.

Ushers were John Woodruff and Brent McCarthy, both of Monterey, Chad Vaught of Covington and Clay Costello of Bastrop.

A reception was at the Eola Hotel following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Arlene Johns, Penny Moak, Jean Wagoner, Tammy Abernathy, Macky Stockstill, Donna Woodruff, Toni Woodruff and Leslie Kennedy. Guests were entertained in the lobby of the hotel by members from the band, Rendezvous. Easy Eddie and the Partyrockers continued the musical entertainment upstairs in the grand ballroom until midnight. After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will live in Vidalia.

Wedding: Alaniz and Newson-Holzwarth

Chelsea Newsom-Holzwarth of Killeen, Texas, formerly of Natchez, and Andreaus Alaniz, also of Killeen, were married Saturday, July 14, 2007, at 1350 Pecan Creek Road, in Killeen, with the Rev. Vinny Bollinger officiating.

Parents of the couple are Louis and Catherine Holzwarth of Killeen, formerly of Natchez, and Adam Alaniz of Killeen and Lisa Alaniz of Louisville, Ky.

Grandmother of the bride is Ms. Patricia Newsom of Natchez.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Jason Ellington.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Louis Holzwarth. She wore a white, full-length, strapless gown by Michaelangelo. The gown was satin with lace appliques on the bodice and a chapel train. Her headpiece was a garden bouquet tiara with crystal and pearl accents and a white lace veil.

Katie Hansen, sister of the bride, also of Killeen, served as matron of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Amber Booker and Stacey Bray, both of Killeen. They wore black, spaghetti-strapped, satin full length gowns.

Fiona Clay-Hester, of Ridgeland, was flower girl.

Michael Daniel, of Killeen, served as best man. Groomsmen were Joe Grisham and Jonathan Edny, both of Killeen.

A reception was in Killeen following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Debra Ellington, Tessa Belden and Sabine Bray. After a wedding trip to South Padre Island, the couple will live in Huntsville, Texas.

Engagement: Lewis and Dixon

Mr. and Mrs. William H. Dixon Jr. of Hattiesburg and Mr. and Mrs. John R. Kingsafer also of Hattiesburg, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Katherine “Katie” Dixon, to Wesley Jordan Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Lewis of Heidelberg.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Hattiesburg High School a graduate of Mississippi State University in Starksville and a graduate of Alcorn State University School of Nursing in Natchez. She is employed as a registered nurse by Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

She is the granddaughter of Ruth Byrd of Hattiesburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Dixon Sr. of Natchez.

The groom is a graduate of Heidelberg High School and a graduate of Mississippi State University in Starkville. He is employed by H C Services in Laurel.

He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Lewis of Neely and the late Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Breland of Leakesville.

The wedding will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at Heidelberg Methodist Church in Heidelberg. A reception will follow at the church.

Formal invitations will be sent to out-of-town guests only.

Wedding: Stringfellow and Jackson

Demetris M. Jackson of Jackson and Demetrius Montrell Stringfellow of Jackson were married Saturday, July 7, 2007, in a double ring ceremony, at Greater New Jerusalem Apostolic Healing Temple, in Fayette, with Bishop Lucious Felton and Drs. Bishop and Queen Jackson officiating.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Otis Stringfellow of Lexington and Drs. Bishop and Queen Jackson of Natchez.

Grandparents are Mrs. Josephine J. Gamble and the late Mr. William R. Jackson, the Rev. David White and the late Mrs. Gertrude Gilchrist.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Tony Gordon, Robbie Cade and Willie Minor .

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Dr. Bishop Melvin Jackson Sr. She wore a white halter, satin gown with pearls and lace by Vera Wang with a five-foot train. A delicate scallop-lace trim along the hemline completed the look.

Shelia H. Jackson served as matron of honor and Michele Bates served as maid of honor. Calvin Roach served as best man.

A reception, including a carriage ride through downtown Natchez, was at the Natchez City Auditorium with approximately 200 guests and a live band. The couple will live in Jackson.
