Rod and Debi Elrod, of Winnsboro, La., announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Emily Dawn Elrod to Benjamin Gallup Shields, son of Clare and Tammy Shields of Vidalia.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Crowville High School and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University. She is employed by the Upward Bound program as an English instructor.
She is the granddaughter of the late Norman and Marjorie Elrod, of Winnsboro, and the late Raymond and Nell Cox of Bastrop, La.
The groom is currently a student at Louisiana Tech University.
He is the grandson of Adeline Gallup and the late Alvin Gallup, of Monterey, La., and the late Ralph and Harriett Shields of Vidalia.
The wedding will be at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, in the garden of Sam and Peggy Nations, 155 Russell Lane, in Winnsboro. Larry Russell will officiate at the ceremony.
Family and friends are invited.

Wedding: Anderson and Prestridge

Jennifer Taylor Prestridge and Scott Edward Anderson were married Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at 3 p.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church, in Jackson, with the Rev. Michael O'Brien officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. David Taylor Prestridge and Mrs. Delphine Voss Prestridge, both of Natchez, and Mr. and Mrs. James Lawrence Anderson of Georgetown.
Grandparents are the late Mrs. Johnnie Harrist, the late Mr. and Mrs. Axel Voss, all of Natchez, and the late Mr. Davis T. Prestridge, of Olla, La., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sebren of Mount Olive and the late Mr. and Mrs. R.G. Anderson of Prentiss.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless ivory gown, detailed with organza overlay and satin trim. Her cathedral length veil edged in ivory silk cording.
Dane Prestridge Mallette served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Prestridge Mattox and Leigh Prestridge Hinton.
Rachel Elizabeth Mallette was flower girl.
James Lawrence Anderson, the groom's father, served as best man. Groomsmen were Robert Lawrence Anderson and Stanley Duane Ethredge.
Program attendants were Erica Anderson, Hannah Anderson and Rainey Anderson.
After a wedding trip to the Riveria Maya, Mexico, the couple will live in Madison.

Engagement: McLemore and Mardis

Mr. and Mrs. Mike McLemore, of Huntingdon, Tenn., announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Mallary McLemore to John Allen Mardis III, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Allen Mardis II of Donahue Plantation on the Natchez Trace.
The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Huntingdon High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Mississippi and will return to Ole Miss, in the fall, to continue her studies in communicative disorder seeking a master's degree in that field.
She is the granddaughter of the late Marion and Meredith McLemore, of Huntingdon, and Travis and Sydney McAdams of Bruceton.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Adams County Christian School, in Natchez, and a 2006 graduate of the University of Mississippi with a degree in criminal justice. He is employed by the town of Madison as a police officer.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Mardis, of Jefferson County, and Mrs. Lillian Goetzmann and the late Mr. Herman Goetzmann of Natchez.
The wedding will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at Huntingdon First United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at the Cub Lake Recreation Lodge at the Natchez Trace State Park at 5 p.m..
Family and friends are invited.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Eugene Duerr Jr., of Memphis, Tenn., announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Elizabeth Austin Duerr to Christopher Lee Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Gordon Martin of Natchez.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Hutchinson School, in Memphis, and a graduate of the University of Mississippi, cum laude, with a bachelor of arts degree in English and art history. She was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She is also a graduate of Mississippi College School of Law, summa cum laude, and will join the law firm of Adams and Reese, LLP in September.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. John Justin Doyle and the late Dr. Doyle, of Naples, Fla., and Rye Beach, N.H., and Mrs. Richard Eugene Duerr Sr. and the late Dr. Duerr of Louisville, Ky.
The groom is a graduate of Cathedral High School, in Natchez, and a graduate of the University of Mississippi, cum laude, with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He is currently in his fourth year of medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, in Jackson.
He is the grandson of Mrs. Robert Irving Kaufman and the late Mr. Kaufman, of Vicksburg, and Mrs. James Gordon Martin and the late Mr. Martin, of Owensboro, Ky.
The wedding will be on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at St. Louis Catholic Church, in Memphis, with the Rev. Brian Kaskie, of Jackson, officiating.
Following a wedding trip, the couple will reside in Jackson.

Meredith Lynn Hale and Joshua David Pigg, both of Hattiesburg, were married Saturday, May 31, 2008, at a sunset ceremony, in Orange Beach, Ala., with the Rev. Glen Henson officiating.
Parents of the couple are Phillip and George Ann Hale, of Natchez, and Mrs. Priscilla Pigg, of Philadelphia, and Mr. Riley Pigg.
Grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hale, of Natchez, the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Dwyer of St. Francisville, La., and Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Walton of Philadelphia.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Phil Hale. She wore a strapless satin A-line gown with a cuff neckline and a pool blue pleated sash at the waist. She had a lily in her hair.
Heather Fayard, of Madison, served as matron of honor. She wore a spaghetti strap tea-length empire dress in pool blue.
Tallyn Elizabeth Fayard served as flower girl.
Jason Pigg, of Philadelphia, served as best man.
A dinner and reception was host by the bride's parents at Angler's, in Orange Beach.
After a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple will live in Hattiesburg.

Martha Wade Wilson, of Madison, and Thomas Scott Adams, of Natchez, were married Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Grace Chapel Presbyterian Church, in Madison, with the Rev. Steven Speed Bryant officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. William Edwin Wilson, of Madison, and Rebecca Adams of Roxie.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Martha Murray-Raymond, organist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white satin ball gown with pick-up skirt and beaded metallic embroidery on bodice. Her floor length veil had a beaded scalloped edge with floral vine motifs accented with Swarovski crystals, clear glass beads and bugle beads.
Jacqueline Wilson McManus served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miranda Elizabeth Bauer, of Orlando, Cathryn Miller Douglas, of Starksville, Stephanie Emma Haik, of Asheville, N.C., Susan Leigh Hall and Jennifer Weeks Williams, both of Jackson, Alexandra Danielle Thornton, of Dallas, and Amanda Kathryn Wallace, of Tupelo.
They wore clover green strapless side ruched ball gowns with rhinestone brooches.
Katherine Bailey McManus, of New Orleans, Elana Rose Wilson and Elizabeth Anne Wilson, both of Clinton, were flower girls.
David Nathaniel Adams III, of Dallas, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Charles Wesley Caldwell III, of Oxford, Ruston Chase Brown, Russell Blanks Butts Jr., Elliot Calvert Meng, James Ryan Rachal and Leon Chadwick Ridley, all of Natchez, and William Jason McManus of New Orleans.
Ushers were Patrick Seth LaBarre, of Paducah, Ky., Azee Talbot LaBarre and William Selby LaBarre, all of Clinton.
A reception was held at the Mississippi Crafts Center, in Ridgeland, following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Mrs. Martha Ann Diaz, Mrs. Elizabeth Bryant and Mrs. Loretta Swatzell.
After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple will live in Natchez.

Mr. and Mrs. Ron Prier Jr., of Mathiston, and Mr. and Mrs. Zane Emfinger, of Woodville, announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Ashton Nichole Emfinger to Michael Anthony Potts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Ladner, of Eupora, and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Potts of Milton, Fla.
The bride-to-be is a 2007 graduate of East Webster High School and is currently attending East Mississippi Community College, in Mayhew, and plans to pursue a degree in nursing.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie D. Geoghegan, of Roxie, Mr. Jerry Emfinger, of Ferriday, and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Stringer of Monterey, La.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Starkville High School and attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, in Gulfport, where he received a certification in commercial truck operation. He is employed by Plymouth Tube Company in Eupora.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Willie “Peck” Jones, of Eupora, Mr. Richard D. Potts and the late Beatrice Potts of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
The wedding will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Eupora. A reception will follow at church's fellowship hall.
