The bride-to-be is a graduate of Adams County Christian School, in Natchez, and a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez, and is currently attending Alcorn State University, pursing a degree in elementary education. She is employed by Pig Out Inn in Natchez.

She is the granddaughter of Doris Buckles and the late Claude Buckles and Polly Emanuel and the late Eugene Emanuel, all of Natchez.

The groom is also a graduate of Adams County Christian School. He is employed by Big M Supply in Natchez.

He is the grandson of the late Tommy and Ruth Tyson and Winfred and Jeanette Hicks, all of Natchez.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Natchez. A reception will follow at the Elk’s Lodge.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cavin, of Natchez, announce the engagement of their daughter, Carson Elizabeth Cavin, to Wesley Frank Blatt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Blatt of Brandon.

The bride-to-be attended Trinity Episcopal Day School, in Natchez, and is a graduate of Wilkinson County Christian Academy in Woodville. She is also a graduate of the University of Mississippi in Oxford. She is employed by Rankin County Public Schools, in Richland, as a kindergarten teacher.

She is the granddaughter of Elizabeth Moore and Dorothy Thompson, both of Natchez, and the late Claude Cavin of Woodville.

The groom is a graduate of North Rankin High School, in Brandon, and a graduate of Mississippi State University in Starkville. He is employed by The Freeman Agency, in Brandon, as an Allstate insurance agent.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Frank, of Montgomery, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Blatt of Taylorville.

The wedding will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at the bride’s family home, 32 Cemetery Road, in Natchez. A reception will follow.

Engagement: Rushing and Wellborn

Kenneth Brown and Theresa Davis announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Rushing, to Nate Wellborn, son of John and Donna Wellborn, all of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Riverside Baptist School, in Natchez, and a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez. She is employed by Supermarket Operations in Natchez.

She is the granddaughter of Melba Nations and the late Lavon Nations of Natchez.

The groom is a graduate of Natchez High School and a graduate of Mississippi State University in Starkville. He is employed by Halliburton Energy Services, in Lafayette, La.

He is the grandson of the late Ray and Patty Prather and the late Larkin and Evelyn Wellborn, all of Natchez.

A private ceremony will be Friday, May 23, 2008, in Natchez.

A reception will be at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2008, at the VFW building in Natchez.

Wedding: Smith and Lowman

Cheyenne Lowman, of Pearl, and Jason Andrew Smith, of Pearl, formerly of Natchez, were married at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, in Jackson.
Parents of the couple are Yolande Oates and Jim Lowman, both of Jackson, and Randy and Theresa Rose Graves, both of Natchez.
Grandparents are Hallaree Herring, of Jackson, and Mary Gonnillini and the late Louis Gonnillini Jr., of Natchez, and O.C. Whitlock of Vidalia.
The bride was given in marriage by father, Jim Lowman.
She wore a floor-length strapless ivory gown embellished with pearls. An inlay of embroidered, beaded pearls fell from the back of the dress into the chapel- length train. Her vale was made of lace adored by a pearl and Swarovski crystal tiera.
Carmyra Williams, of Jackson, was maid of honor. She wore a full-length lavender gown.
Randy Graves, of Natchez, was best man.
Jaquavian and Justus Williams, both of Jackson, were ring bearers.
A reception was held at the Ramada Inn following the ceremony.
The couple will live in Pearl.

Wedding: Davis and Pike

Christine Amalie Pike and Petty Officer Aaron Aviv Davis were married Monday, March 17, 2008, in a civil ceremony in New Orleans.

Parents of the couple are Dr. and Mrs. Peter Bundgard and Mr. and Mrs. Steven Pike of Carrollton, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Brian Mandel of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Davis of Hurt, Va.

The bride is a graduate of Trinity Episcopal Day School, in Natchez, and a graduate of University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in international studies. She is a member of the Foreign Policy Association and is employed by Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

The groom is a graduate of Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, Calif. After joining the U.S. Coast Guard, he earned his Square Rigger’s Certification aboard the USCG Barque Eagle, the U.S. military’s only active tallship, in New London, Conn., where he also served as Jewish lay leader. In 2004, he joined the crew of USCGC Shamal, in Pascagoula, serving as master helmsman and quartermaster, and was commended for his efforts in the recovery and repair of the Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf Coast during and after hurricane Katrina.

A summer wedding is planned at historic Temple Beth Israel in Heritage Park, San Diego, Calif. After a wedding trip to Israel and honeymoon in Waikiki, Hawaii, the couple will live in New Orleans.

Wedding: Terrell and Dixon

LaShonda Renee’ Terrell and Aundrain LaVan Dixon, both Natchez, were married at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Greater St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. James E. Brooks officiating.

Parents of the couple are Mrs. Patrick Terrell and the late Albert Terrell II and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Warfield and Wilford Hawkins, all of Natchez.

Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Cedric Ealey. Soloists were Dorothy Davis, Kierra Johnson, Patrick Gibbons, Andrea Gordon and Keith Richardson.

The bride was given in marriage by her brothers, Patrick Gibbons and Greg Terrell.

The bride wore a white satin gown by PC Mary’s. The bodice had a basque waistline, halter neckline and traditional full skirt. The bodice was embellished with sequin and pearls. The back of the dress had dropped beads hanging from the halter neckline, complimented with a long royal train with Alencon lace appliques with beads and sequins.

Shameka Thomas, of Natchez, and LaKeisha Macon, of New Orleans, served as matrons of honor. Penny Terrell, of Natchez, served as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were LaCasa Dixon and LaVonne Dixon, both of Natchez. They wore red satin strapless floor-length dresses accented with a white color satin ribbon around the waistline with a red satin shawl wrapped around the shoulders.

Robert Dixon and Cassius Wright, both of Natchez, served as best men.

Groomsmen were DeShawn Jackson and Kedrieck Gibbons, both of Natchez, and DaMarius Jackson, of Jackson.

Asya Terrell and Kobe Dixon served as miniature bride and groom.

Mya Thomas, Tramia Marsaw, both of Natchez, and Meleah Briggs, of Jackson, were flower girls. Vincent Knight Jr. served as ring bearer. Jesyln and Joshua Gordon, both of Jackson, were Bible carriers.

Ushers were Givonni Dent, Jarius Gibbons, Christaufer Skipper and Tyra Williams.

Hostesses were Jacquirria Dixon, Symonne Williams, Kelsa Abraham and Betty Washington.

A reception was held at D.W. Howard Multipurpose Building. Assisting were Larry Ross and Keith Matthews.

The couple will live in Natchez.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mittie Ford and the late Rev. Wilson Ford Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. James Brown Sr., all of Natchez.
The groom is a graduate of Hazlehurst High School and Belhaven College, in Jackson, where he received a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He is employed by Walgreens Pharmacy, in Slidell, La., as an assistant manager.
He is the grandson of Mr. Jasper Lowe Sr., of Vicksburg, Mrs. Mattie Black of Hazlehurst, Mr. Robert Robinson and Mrs. Deloris McEwen of Brookhaven.
