Engagement: Ross and Jex

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Andrew Ross, of Houston, announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Dyan Ross to Michael Zachary Jex, son of Mrs. Randa Hamrick Jex, of Natchez, and Mr. Stephen Michael Jex of Bastrop, La.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Kingwood High School, in Kingwood, Texas, and is a 2004 graduate of the University of Mississippi where she received a bachelor of business administration with a focus in marketing and management. She is employed by Cellular South Headquarters, in Ridgeland, as a project developer.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Peter Ross, of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Dubberly of Athens, Texas.

The groom is a graduate of Trinity High School, in Natchez, and is a 2004 graduate of the University of Mississippi where he received a bachelor of arts, with a focus in English and history. He received his juris doctor degree on May 10, 2008 from the University of Mississippi School of Law in Oxford. He served as a member of the Moot Court Board and president of the Old Miss Chapter of the Mississippi Defense Lawyer's Association.

He is the grandson of Mr. Sterling Jex and the late Mrs. Sterling “Beatrice” Jex of Clayton, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hamrick of Warrior, Ala.

The wedding will be on Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church in Natchez. A reception will follow at Twin Oaks.

The couple will reside in Jackson.

Wedding: smith and Chadwick

Lydia Rene' Smith, of Natchez, and Price Conerly Chadwick, of Jackson, were married Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 1 p.m., at the Chadwick Home, in Jackson, with the Rev. Justin McCreary officiating.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. H. Clark Smith Jr., of Natchez, and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Chadwick of Jackson.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Mark McNeil of Jackson.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, H. Clark Smith Jr.

She wore a designer gown of ivory satin. The A-line gown featured a short bolero jacket. She wore an elbow length veil accented with rhinestones. The veil was attached to a headband of seed pearls and rhinestones.

Laura Lindsey Smith, sister of the bride, of Natchez, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Sarah Katherine “Kati” Hinton, of Natchez, and Keely Ballard Dayton of Jackson. They wore ruched, high-neck halter dresses featuring a wide empire waist. The coral dresses featured sequins and beads at the waist and hemline.

Myra Blair Smith-Shull, daughter of the bride, of Natchez, was flower girl.

Ian McNiff, brother-in-law of the groom, of Brandon, was best man.

Groomsmen were Jason Woods and Michael Brooke, both of Starkville.

A reception was held immediately following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were friends of the bride and groom.

After a wedding trip, the couple will live in Brandon.

Wedding: Staggs and Aultman

Cashion Lea Staggs, of Vidalia, and Joshua Lee Aultman, of Sumrall, were married April 26, 2008 at the Vidalia Conference Center with the Rev. Randy Davis, cousin of the bride, officiating.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Lee Staggs Sr., of Vidalia, and Mr. Curtis Aultman and Ms. Linda Aultman of Sumrall.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Richard Burke.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and mother.

She wore a strapless white satin ball gown with beaded top, V-pattern at the waistline connected the tufted skirt with chapel train, with a small beaded tiara with fingertip veil.

Amy Cagnolatti, of Hattiesburg, was maid of honor.

Bridemaids were Lydia Marrero and LeAnn Moon Preiss, both of Hattiesburg, Rachel Tillman of Natchez and Christy Corley of Vidalia. They wore pool blue strapless A-line gowns with trains.

Jonathan Aultman, brother of the groom, of Sumrall, was best man.

Groomsmen were Lee Staggs, brother of the bride, of Vidalia, Brad Marrero, Josh Revior and David Moore, all of Hattiesburg.

Ushers were brothers of the bride and groom.

A reception was held at the Vidalia Conference Center following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Sue Corley, Mary Hefner, Cherry Moon and Donna Atkinson.

After a wedding trip, the couple will live in Hattiesburg.

Engagement: Twiner and Housley

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Twinner, of Meadville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Misty Ann Twiner to Christopher Bryan Housley, son of Bobby Housley, of Houston, and Dianne Housley of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Franklin High School, in Meadville, and is a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez. She is employed by Old South Federal Credit Union.

She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Mitchell and Eva Mae Purser and the late Clarence Purser, all of Meadville.

The groom is a graduate of Natchez High School. He is the owner of Bryan's Granite Shop in Natchez.

He is the grandson of Buddy and Willie Mae Williams, of Natchez, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Housley of Vidalia.

The wedding will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Ravennaside in Natchez.

Engagement: Wislon and Adams

Mr. and Mrs. William Edwin Wilson, of Madison, announce the engagement of their daughter, Martha Wade Wilson to Thomas Scott Adams, son of Ms. Rebecca Adams of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of St. Aloysius High School, in Vicksburg, and is a graduate of the University of Mississippi where she received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She is employed by Clinton Park Elementary School, in Clinton, as an intervention specialist.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Oscar Putnam LaBarre Jr. and the late Judge LaBarre and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Allen Wilson, all of Vicksburg.

The groom is a graduate of Trinity High School, in Natchez, and is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with degrees in finance and accounting. He is employed by Silas Simmons, in Natchez, as an accountant.

He is the grandson of Mr. Charles Marvin Williams Sr., of Florien, La., Mrs. Janet Eason of Shreveport, La., Mrs. Edith Thaxton of Hornbeck, La., and the late Mr. David Nathaniel Adams Sr. of Garland, Texas.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Grace Chapel Presbyterian Church in Madison. A reception will follow at the Mississippi Crafts Center.

Engagement: Wood and Wallace

Mike and Pam Wood, of Brookhaven, announce the engagement of their daughter, Karla Marie Wood to Cory Matthew Wallace, son of Kenneth and Carmen Wallace of McCall Creek.

The bride-to-be will graduate May 2008 from West Lincoln Attendance Center with honors.

She is the granddaughter of Lolita Lewis, of Natchez, the late Gene Foster of Natchez and Albert and Theresa Wood of Meridian.

The groom is a graduate of Franklin County High School and is currently attending Copiah-Lincoln Community in Wesson.

He is the grandson of Vera Mae Wallace and the late J.J. Wallace Sr., of McCall Creek, and Kenneth Dixon of West Point.

The wedding will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Wrights Methodist Church in McCall Creek. A reception will follow.

Engagement: Johansson and Passini

Larry and Mary Beth Johansson, of Arkansas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Patrice Johansson to Edward Hugh “Rusty” Passini III, son of Dr. Edward Passini Jr. and Donna Passini.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of White Hall High School, in Arkansas, and is currently a senior attending the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Ark.

She is the granddaughter of Patricia Newsom, of Natchez, and the late Edward and Monica “Pat” Johansson of Vidalia.

The groom is a graduate of Central High School, in Little Rock, Ark., and is a graduate of Westminster College, in Fulton, Mo., and is currently attending the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

He is the grandson of Edward Passini Sr. and the late Shirley Passini and Emma Duncan and the late Mitchell Duncan, all of Little Rock.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Little Rock. A reception will follow at Cotham's In the City, downtown Little Rock.
