Wedding: Gaines and Easley

Charlene Gaines, of Natchez, and Joseph Lee Easley, of Jackson, were married Sunday, May 11, 2008, at 5 p.m., on the Okaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., with the Rev. Margo Windom officiating.
Parents of the couple are the late Willie Gaines Jr. and Essie Gaines, of Natchez, and the late Morris and Beulah Easley of Crystal Springs.
The bride was given in marriage by her son, Preston Jerel Gooden. She wore an ivory haltered gown of satin with a sweetheart neckline.
Arlana Hargrave, of Natchez, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Felicia L. Easley, of Melrose Park, Ill., and Lorna Harris of Douglasville, Ga. They wore lavender satin gowns with sheer chiffon overlay and scarves.
Kierra Morgan, of Natchez, was the flower girl.
Willie James Easley, brother of the groom, of Melrose Park, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jackie Howard, of Douglasville, and Phillip “Jose” Gooden Jr. of Natchez.
Christopher Brooks McIntosh, of Crainville, Ill., was ringbearer.
A reception was at the Black Pearl Restaurant, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception was Christina Brooks, Faye Easley, Joe Lee Jr., Steven McIntosh, Barbara Jean Gaines and Kimberly Dixon.
After honeymooning on the Emerald Coast, the couple will live in Natchez.

Engagement: Heffner and McDaniel

Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Heffner, of Ferriday, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Michon Heffner to David Ray McDaniel Jr., son of Ms. Catherine “Monkey” McDaniel and Mr. David McDaniel of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Adams County Christian School, in Natchez, and is a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College, in Natchez, and the University of Louisiana, at Monroe, with a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric sciences. She is employed by Trinity Consultants in Charlotte, N.C.

She is the granddaughter of R.B. Overbey and the late Hazel Overbey of Grenada and the late Arlee and Bessie Heffner of Greenwood.

The groom attended Cathedral High School and Natchez High School. He is employed by Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc., of Houston.

He is the grandson of Bryant “Speedy” and Dorothy Wilson and Edward and Joan McDaniel, all of Natchez .

The wedding will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center. A reception will follow.

He is employed part time by Sam’s Club, in Gulfport, and as a lifeguard at the university.
He is the grandson of Rose Gollotte, of Biloxi, and the late Lester Becnel, of Port Sulphur, La., and the late Abe and Maria Huffstickler of Gulfport.
