Shoppers get real early start

Published Friday, November 23, 2007

Natchez shoppers lined up in the cold and drizzle to get an early start on holiday shopping — a real early start.

At 4 a.m. the parking lot in front of the JC Penney in Natchez was filled with cars, filled with passengers waiting for the doors to open in the Natchez Mall store.

Across the Mississippi River in Vidalia, a small line had already started to form outside the entrance of the Vidalia Wal-Mart. By 5 a.m., when the store opened, a long line snaked through the parking lot.

With the turn of a deadbolt, the line quickly disappeared into the store.

It didn't take long for shoppers to reappear with carts filled with Christmas gifts for family and friends — and maybe a couple of flat screen televisions for themselves.

Here is a look at the early morning hours of Black Friday in the Miss-Lou.

They'll look even more unhappy when they get a look at their maxed out credit card statements.

They don't look happy because they are in line and they know how long you have to wait to get checked out.

Dang, I was snuggled all cozy in my bed and missed being shoved, pushed and trampled at Wal-mart @ 5am..........
I don't think there is anything I need/want bad enough to get up and face those crowds!!!!!!!! I'd rather pay $10 more !

I was snoozing. But they do have some ignorant people. There should be security guards at each of these stores to keep people from pushing and acting stupid.

I took my daughter one time and she was actually scared to death by the time we left. She said she thought they were gonna run over her, so she just started running into them with her buggy. LOL

these people are unhappy because they are stuck living in Natchez with low paying jobs, rampant crime, low quality of life and there is nothing they can do about it
