Store broken into; no money taken

Published Tuesday, January 29, 2008

NATCHEZ — Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a break-in at the U.S. 61 North Shell station in Washington.

The front door glass at the gas station was broken out at approximately 5 a.m.

The store was closed when the alarm system notified authorities of the break-in.

Sheriff Ronny Brown said it appeared the burglars tried to take the store’s safe, but failed because the safe was bolted down.

The only things taken were two cigarette lighters that were later found in the parking lot.

The break-in was caught on the store’s surveillance video, and Brown said it appears the culprits were two males.

The ACSO is collecting evidence from the scene.

"The break-in was caught on the store’s surveillance video, and Brown said it appears the culprits were two males."

If that is the best they can do with a SECURITY camera then what's the point??!! ALL they know is it was 2 males?! I could have guessed that one!

I wonder if the suspect was at home during these burglaries too.....

Ok, somehow "the suspect" has been blamed in every one of these bulgaries, there is no way he has been in ALL of these. Every time something gets broken into she devil says it the "suspect". No wonder we aren't getting anywhere in this investigation, sounds like we are only looking at one person, open you eyes shedevil, there are quite a few criminals out there.

I was walking the other day and was asked for a light from 2 males, this could have been them. 2 males, no light guilty I say.

mike I'm hoping that shedevil isn't the only one investigating. Maybe they can get finger prints off of the lighters.

If I were gonna go to all that trouble as to break-in a store, I would have at least gotten a couple of twinkies and a coke.

I have a silly theory. Maybe there is a connection
between unemployment and crime!

Hey guys, these burglaries have been going on for longer than you realize, this is nothing new, we had several in that same area last year and the year before.

I was talking with a preacher who lives on Martin Luther King and has complained a lot about drug dealers hanging out on the corner, everytime the cops come the dealers vanish for a while, then come back................. is someone tipping them off? That's what he thinks. If we clean up our streets these petty crimes will decrease. I call these thugs mini-terrorists, because their crimes are mostly bothersome, but they do terrorize the community and must be stopped.

No kpage and dottie, it isn't funny. But really, if someone is gonna go to jail for burgulary, breaking and entering...why not do it right and get some food or something? At least then they could have claimed hunger as their excuse for the burgulary. They must have been trying to quit and suddenly had a bad need to smoke the last few in the pack to just take two lighters and then throw them away (in the parking lot). I'ma thinking these aren't the brightest bulbs in the pack, lol. Could it be bored teens or maybe someone training for black ops?

Could these be the same two guys who broke into Piggly Wiggly last month or so? Remember they tried to steal the ATM machine, and left after an hour without even a lighter? At least they almost got something this time.

Have you ever had a "funny feeling" that something was wrong? Well, we call that "funny feeling" intuition. Intuition is a gift . . . use it when you get a signal that something is wrong . . . it just may save your life!

For those of you at home (or at work where you may be able to watch a TV on your lunch hour), Oprah is on right now. The topic of today's show is "How the Gift of Fear Can Save Your Life".

If you get an opportunity to watch it this afternoon or later on tonight, depending on where your live, maybe we can come back online and discuss some tips or share some valuable information about how to avoid being a victim.

mike...i know its not one person but i do think its a gang that he is involved in.im sure the ntz pd wont solve these cases until the thieves go to the police dept and turn themselves in.

((shedevil)), I hope noone holds their breath until they turn themselves in because it ain't going to happen! So, I guess they can put these cases in the "unsolved" file.

What?

Wonder what they were doing with the lighters? Maybe since no money was taken, no crack was purchased or smoked, so no lighter was needing thus resulting in disposal out the window near the Shell Station that was robbed in order to purchase the crack.....
