Vidalia All-Stars win, advance to sub-district championship game

WINNSBORO — The Vidalia 9 and 10-year-old Dixie Youth All-Stars advanced to the championship game of their sub-district tournament with a 5-3 win over Ferriday Tuesday night.
Pate Shirley led the hitting with a three-run home run in the fourth inning which broke open a 2-2 tie.
Chandler Grayson pitched the final four innings to pick up the win.
Vidalia will play Winnsboro tonight at 6 p.m. in the championship game. Vidalia is the only unbeaten team in the tournament, which means Winnsboro must beat them twice to win the title.
Vidalia has already secured a spot in the district tournament, which begins July 5 in Monroe, La.
