Wilkinson ballot box examinations to continue
Published Thursday, July 3, 2008
WOODVILLE — Examination of the ballot boxes from the June 24 special Democratic primary in Wilkinson County will continue into the weekend.
Circuit Clerk Mon Cree Allen, District Two Supervisor Richard Hollins and Sheriff Reginald “Pip” Hollins filed their own motions to examine the boxes Wednesday evening.
Supervisor candidate Kirk Smith and sheriff candidate Jesse Stewart had filed to examine the boxes and began their examination Wednesday. That examination continued Thursday morning.
Hollins and Jackson also wanted to examine the boxes Wednesday, but Judge Jim Persons ruled they did not have the right to examine the boxes because they had not filed to do so at that time.

Still got this judge going against his on ruling. The voters of wilkinson county has spoken and you still let this outrage go on. you have cause the county a lot of money with your one sided trial, and now you are back with the same old tricks.

This is the worst I have ever seen. Hollins and Jackson won in August 2007 and again in June 2008. The losers Stewart and Smith are still not satisfied. Wilkinson County will go broke trying to pay for election after election. Stewart and Smith should accept defeat and let the county move forward. I agree with jfa the judge is going against his own ruling.

I think that they should examine the boxes again because the officials that are now in Woodville are thieves and crooks and they should be brought to justice. They would have ended this long ago if everything was going fine in Woodville but it isn't and that is because these officals aren't doing their job.

Mistakes were made . My Dad and brother went to vote together. While my Dad was signing his name to the register,my brother was voting. They never asked my brother to sign in . I wonder how many votes were thrown out with this kind of thing going on at the poll booths . The numbers couldn't add up right at the end of the day. There was too many inexperienced poll workers with too little training to get the job done as it was supposed to be done . The whole election has been a farse again. There is nothing left to do but live with it .

lovely , I don't lie nor do I have to.My family votes in the 5th district. I found out yesterday from a cousin that her vote was thrown out because her correct name wasn't on the register . The last time she voted it was and she hasn't changed her name since then. There is still a lot of illegal actions going on . Once again the bad guys win . I guess the jails are too full to house these crooks .
