TWENTY YEARS AGO — John Mark Whitney strikes out 12 batters and has two hits, including an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth, to lead Motor Parts past Dr. Bug 8-1 for the Dixie Youth 10-12 city championship.

TEN YEARS AGO — Timmy Foster has an RBI single in the first and a two-run home run in the third to lead the Natchez 9-10 Rebel League All-Stars to a 7-2 win over Pine Hills to capture the sub-district championship.

FIVE YEARS AGO — Trey Brasher strikes out 13 and Michael Deckerlegand’s RBI fielder’s choice in the top of the sixth helps Ferriday defeat South Franklin 3-1 at the District 5 South Sub-District Major League Tournament.
