One-vehicle accident leads to double fatality

Harrisonburg— A one-vehicle accident led to a double fatality at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday in Catahoula Parish.
A 2000 GMC truck was heading north bound on Louisiana 124 when it lost control and exited the left side of the road, according to Louisiana State Police.
After leaving the road, it collided with a large tree.
Chance E. Wiley, 26, of Sicily Island, was driving the vehicle and was carrying only one passenger, Cody T. Davis, 21, of Jonesville. Wiley was wearing his seat belt but Davis was unrestrained. Routine toxicology tests are pending.
Catahoula Parish Coroner’s Office will conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause of death.
The crash remains under investigation.

If I am correct, the Wiley man that "Fire" may be talking about was killed in that Fourth of July wreck last year off of Canal Street. He was from Vidalia. Who knows, they may be in the same family.

How tragic! I saw the obits and wondered if they were together when they passed away. My heart and prayers go out to the families of these two boys. Reading about this kind of tragedy isn't getting any easier, folks.

The Davis man's brother was killed several years ago in a tractor accident. This family has had more than enough tragedy.

We are very sorry to hear about the loss of these two young men.
Steve my husband just started working for you a month ago. We haven't known you very long but our hearts and prayers go out to you. If there is anything we can do let us know. You call my old man RIP.
To the other family my heart and prayers go out to you all too. We lossed a daughter-in-law in a tragic accident and it was devasting.
