One-vehicle accident leads to double fatality

Harrisonburg— A one-vehicle accident led to a double fatality at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday in Catahoula Parish.

A 2000 GMC truck was heading north bound on Louisiana 124 when it lost control and exited the left side of the road, according to Louisiana State Police.

After leaving the road, it collided with a large tree.

Chance E. Wiley, 26, of Sicily Island, was driving the vehicle and was carrying only one passenger, Cody T. Davis, 21, of Jonesville. Wiley was wearing his seat belt but Davis was unrestrained. Routine toxicology tests are pending.

Catahoula Parish Coroner’s Office will conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause of death.

The crash remains under investigation.
