‘Harvey the Rabbit’ comes to parish libraries

Published Tuesday, June 24, 2008

Vidalia — On Thursday “Harvey Rabbit and Friends” will be performing at the Ferriday Library at 10:15 a.m. and at the Community Room at Concordia Bank in Vidalia at 2 p.m.

Harvey will be bringing Cecil the Orangutan and T-Boy the Alligator and Laura and Tim Allured for a fun-filled energetic show of ventriloquism, puppetry, music, magic, comedy and audience participation. Laura and Tim, formerly of Lake Charles, and now of Lafayette have toured elementary schools throughout Louisiana, southeast Texas and in Mississippi, in their own entertaining, educational school programs since 1986. They have been familiar faces at libraries throughout Louisiana as guest performers for the Summer Reading Programs since 1991. They have hosted a Lake Charles cable TV show called “The Harvey Rabbit Cartoon Hour” and have produced four videos with the last one being picked as the Parenting Pick in the October 2001 issue of PARENTING magazine. Both, Laura and Tim are graduates of McNeese State University in vocal music education. They have been headline entertainers for the Carnival Cruise Lines out of Miami and on the Mississippi Queen of the Delta Queen Steamboat Company.

This program is co-sponsored by Concordia Bank.

I'll pass.I have plans on thursday. I guess I'll just have to TIVO Mr. Rodgers neighborhood and then after I get home late Thursday I'll get drunk and pretend I went.
... Sounds like fun though.

Aaaaawww, Username! Is Harvey the name of Jimmy Stewart's invisible rabbit? Yall remember that movie? He was "Into one light-hearted shenanigin after another". Har.

Really, I may take my 6-year old. Is that too old for this kind of entertainment? I sure wouldn't want him to roll his eyes at me when he catches sight of that stuffed wad o' fun.
