TEN YEARS AGO — Garrett Jones goes 3-for-4 with a double and Russell Barmer goes 2-for-3 with a double and a triple as Blain Co. gets a big win in Natchez Dixie Youth 11-12 action by defeating Coca-Cola 8-2.

FIVE YEARS AGO — LSU golf signee Alexis Rather of Tupelo defeats Leigh Phillips and defending champion Amanda Mathis to advance to the championship flight final at the Mississippi Women’s State Amateur.
