TWENTY YEARS AGO — After an eighth-place finish in the championship flight of the state junior golf championship, Natchez junior golfer Chandler Russ says he nearly withdrew after a disappointing front-9 47 on Friday.

TEN YEARS AGO — Led by Cole Bradford, Benji Maher, Timmy Foster and C.J. Wright, the Rebel League All-Stars sweep the Confederate All-Stars in impressive fashion, winning the first game 18-2 and the second game 16-0.

FIVE YEARS AGO — Renee Chastain of Brandon makes key putts on Nos. 1, 3, 7, 10, and 16 and gets a lucky bounce on No. 13 to defeat Alexis Rather of Tupelo to win the Mississippi Women’s Golf Association State Amateur.
