Lady Hounds place first

NATCHEZ — The Huntington Hounds girls track team recently took first place in the ACCS track meet.
The Lady Hounds won with a total of 68 points followed by WCCA with 66. Tallulah was third, ACCS fourth, Glenbrook fifth and Trinity sixth.
In individual events for the Lady Hounds, Amberlee Collard was fourth in the shot put with a heave of 25 feet 1inch while Donna Tarver was second in the discus with a toss of 72 feet 11.5 inches.
Phyllicia Woods was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 12 feet 5 inches.
In the 3,200 meter run, Katie Gray was fourth with a time of 16:05.
Abi Brown won the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 49.58 seconds while Julie Moak was fourth with a time of 58.21 seconds.
Brown and Moak also placed well in the 100 meter hurdles, with Brown taking first place with a time of 17.4 seconds and Moak clocking in third with a time of 18.4 seconds.
Woods was second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.9 seconds while Collard was third with a time of 14.0 seconds.
Katie Gray finished second in the 1,600 meters with a time of 7:10 while Briana Olds was fourth with a time of 7:35.
In the 400 meters, Brown once again found herself in the winners circle with a time of 1:05.59.
Tarver was fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 3:04 while Moak was fifth in that event with a time of 3:18.
In the 200 meters, Collard placed second with a time of 29.3 seconds while Woods was fifth with a time of 30.2 seconds.
The relay team of Moak, Collard Woods and Brown did well in all the relay events, placing second in the 800 meter relay with a time of 1:57, second in the1,600 meter relay with a time of 4:53 and winning the 400 meter relay with a time of 54.97 seconds.
The Huntington junior varsity team placed fifth at the same event with12 points. WCCA won the JV event with 79 points.
Natalie Tarver was fifth for Huntington in the 100 meter dash with a time of 15.24 seconds.
Tarver also won the 800 meters with a time of 2:56.
The relay team of Rachel House, Emily Pearson, Adalyn Boyd and Tarver was fifth in the 800 meter relay with a time of 2:18 while the team of Pearson, Boyd, Tarver and Hunter Marks finished fourth in the 400 meter relay with a time of 1:04 and fourth in the 1,600 meter relay with a time of 5:47.
