Firefighters battle October Street fire

NATCHEZ — The Natchez Fire Department responded to a house fire at 9 October Street late Monday afternoon.
Fire chief Paul Johnson said the fire appears to have been electrical and may have started in the kitchen
He said there was fire damage to the kitchen and adjacent hallway and smoke and water damage throughout the house.

The house belongs to Charles Bernard, who was not home when the fire started but was notified of the fire.

what the heck is up with all these fires??????is the energy company not installing electricity right????i mean come on a hotel has burnt up too that makes me uncomfortable!!!

I feel your concern picture. I think that if it's anything wrong with the electricity, it would more likely be with the person who constructed the house. Most electrical fires begin in the home (i.e. plug-in outlets) which would mean error on the constructors part not the electric company. This particular story said it started in the kitchen which probably means it was a problem with the electrical connections in the home.
