Published Thursday, May 8, 2008
NATCHEZ — On May 1, a truck belonging the Adams County Water Association was stolen from their facility on Foster Mound Road.
Adams County Deputy Maj. Jody Waldrop said the lock on the gate where the truck was located had been cut.
A 2004 GMC pickup truck and utility trailer, with mower and weed trimmer, were stolen.
Waldrop said the keys to the truck had been left inside the vehicle.
The truck was recovered on Tate Road shortly after the theft was reported.
Waldrop said the trailer and equipment have not been recovered but the case is still under investigation.

The employee who left the key in the truck should be repremanded for his/her stupidity. Responsible people do not leave the keys in a vehicle, especially if it does not belong to you.

How convenient! Any thoughts of say... Employee Theft! Or at least aiding in the theft. With rising gas prices you can look for joy riders and theft to increase. Seems like the city would think of this also.

Only took eight days to get this story in the paper. Way to go ND. That's what I call good investigative reporting. Did my mentioning this theft on another board yesterday prompt you to actually run the story?

the sheriff office control their reports they don't give the natchez deomcrat full access to look at any and every report like the police department does. mike mullins does a good job of not hiding any thing from the public. wether its good or bad!

natchez500 its true the democrat do not have full acces to the sheriff office reports.i know for a fact that when they come to the sheriff dept. to view reports, someone reads them off to them.they cannot view them.i'm not talking about arrest reports.i'm talking about complaints. otherwise how do you explain the democrat waiting seven days before they print a story on a stolen county vehicle?
