Isle of Capri to re-open Monday
Published Saturday, May 10, 2008
NATCHEZ — The Isle of Capri casino boat, closed for nearly a month, is slated to reopen on Monday, according to a press release.
The casino boat closed its doors April 13 when floodwaters reached 55.5 feet.
On Monday, City Engineer David Gardner projected it would be a week before the Isle could re-open. Time was needed to allow the water to recede a bit more and for clean up of debris, he said.
Tana Ferrington, marketing director for the Isle of Capri said the clean up of the area started Tuesday.
“As the water receded they’ve been able to do more things and then when the water receded past the sandbags they were able to remove all of that and pressure washing (began),” she said.
The Isle worked with the city in making the decision to reopen, Ferrington said.
“There were several meetings between our interim general manager and our executive staff and our city,” she said. “There was constant communication between the (two groups).”
She said the city conducted a walkthrough and everyone was in agreement that the casino boat could reopen.
“Everybody’s quite excited,” Ferrington said.
The Isle employees never stopped getting pay checks.
According to the corporate Isle of Capri Web site, in 2006, the Isle of Capri grossed $43.3 million in its annual revenue. Using those numbers, the casino’s closure likely cost approximately $3 million.

Too bad you didn't learn more in manners class. Can't you understand saracism and/or colloquial wit when you see it?

It's amazing how we can hide behind our usernames.

That subject just made my day! He reminds me of someone that just lost the Mayor's race with that Spirit. Just a bad Attitude Problem! He's just needs to grow up mentally!

I am humbled in the presence of Marc_Robson. How can we ever live up to his standards? He is obviously so much better than the rest of us. HAHAHAHAHA
Grow up you little jerk. With a name like Marc_Robson, I don't think you are hidden very well.
I will just be glad to see the boat re-opened and everything back to normal. Big props to the staff for all the hard work bagging sand before the closure. More big thanks for all the hard work they did cleaning up the mess made by old man river.

Who the h&%# is this arrogant Marc "Antony" Robson anyway? If he was somebody wouldn't we recognize his name? He obviously isn't.
Markie Marc, surely you don't think that you are smarter, wiser, richer, more beautiful, etc. than everyone else in the world...if so you obviously haven't studied history well enough to know that those who do think that way usually meet serious and disastrous fates.
If you're still young enough to think this way, or perhaps, psychotic enough, please get some help...you need it.

Yea marK I checked you out. You gotta lot of thugs up in your section of town. I figure you're just another one. No one on here really cares about you. You are truly insignificant and a waste of oxygen. You don't matter. You don't know how wealthy anyone here is.
With your attitude you are a very poor individual.

This Marc character... you all shouldn't let him get under your skin. Although I do envy his arrogance.

Hey Mr. Robson, if you make so much money, why not just buy the Pile of Debris and make it into your own steamboat. Oh wait, there is no motor, the smokestacks are fake!

Marc, are you related to Conner or Emmett?

Not at all, I just happen to be related to them in that round about Natchez way. You know 3rd cousin twice removed by marriage.

I am shocked that someone has chosen to use my name (Marc Robson) in this discussion forum. There has never been another Marc Robson living in Natchez and not very many Robsons at all. At this point I no longer live there and do not keep up with events on this website (happened to be googling my name as I periodically do). This loudmouth is using a false name for some reason.
Try www.pipl.com and you will see I am correct.
