TEN YEARS AGO — Huntington head coach Mitch Ashmore and senior pitcher Chad Vaught are The Democrat’s All-Metro Coach and Player of the Year after leading the Hounds to the Class A State Championship series.

FIVE YEARS AGO — Blake Gill goes 2-for-4 with 4 RBIs and Nate Bumstead strikes out seven in eight innings as the LSU Tigers win their first SEC baseball title since 1997 with an 11-3 win over Alabama.
