Man allegedly fires at occupied car
Published Tuesday, November 11, 2008
NATCHEZ — A Natchez man was arrested after he allegedly fired indiscriminately into a vehicle Sunday afternoon.
Marcus Montrell Dionisio, 19, 144 Mount Carmel Drive, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and five counts of manifesting extreme indifference to a life.
The incident happened at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the area of Morgantown Road and Mount Carmel Drive.
A 34-year-old woman with four passengers aged 24, 13, 5 and 7 months were reportedly in the area looking for a mechanic to work on the car, Police Chief Mike Mullins said.
Dionisio and another person reportedly flagged down the vehicle and asked the driver if she wanted to sell the vehicle, Mullins said.
“They said no and argued about that for a few seconds before leaving,” he said.
When the vehicle returned to the area still looking for the mechanic, Dionisio allegedly pulled a gun and fired at least four shots in its direction, Mullins said.
One bullet broke the vehicle’s back window and there were three bullet holes in the side of the car.
“There was a bullet hole in the door of the vehicle right where an individual was sitting, but it did not penetrate the door,” Mullins said.
The police were able to recover the weapon, and Dionisio faces the five counts of manifesting extreme indifference to a life for the five victims in the vehicle, Mullins said.
Dionisio was arraigned Monday and his bond was set at $225,000.

What does all those charges mean? Just lock him up and keep him there.

I grew up in this area and there was very little crime.I hope they keep him locked up.

If that were me I would be under the jail and they would throw away the key!!! How some of these fools keep getting into trouble, and its not minor trouble, its big trouble, they will be out by the next day on bail, and most probally be put on probation!!!!!

The charges should be 5 counts of assault with intent to commit murder
Posted by ProNatchez (anonymous) on November 11, 2008 at 5:42 a.m. (Suggest removal)
Should be attempted murder. 5 counts. Lock this thug up.

Unfortunately, we don't have an 'attempted murder' charge in Mississippi.
Posted by mike8427 (anonymous) on November 11, 2008 at 6:36 a.m. (Suggest removal)
Thank you Daryl, I was about to say the same. MS doesn't have attemtped murder, it's called aggrivated assualt here.
This story sounds fishy, what was this person really looking for? I doubt it was a mechanic.

Soooo thankful no one was hurt or killed! Tie him down and let the driver and the 24 year-old "accidentally" shoot at him or even let one of the bullets graze him by the skin. Then let the shooters say, "Oh, but we didn't intend to commit aggravated assault. He was just tied up, so we decided to get our guns and start shooting for the fun of it." Come on folks, there were children in the car!! THIS IS CRAZY!!!!!!!!!

exscuse the typos, I tend to make more mistakes when I'm passionate about something like I am about this neighborhood. I just can't believe they want to live this way.

They were driving off without paying for the drugs? Well that is a whole different story ND. You need to do a little investigative reporting before you publicly condem this young man for shooting at a car full of children.
Siriuseve, todays busy parents have to multi-task to get everything done.

siriuseve you say you know all this trash? Well that sort of puts you in ths same category doesn't it? Why haven't you let the NPD know about this?
I lived in Mt. Carmel for 13 years. My kids grew up there and played all around the circle. There was not even an inkling that they would come to harm.
I drove around the circle there the other day. On the backside some thug wannabes had pulled a basketball goal out in the middle of the street. They just looked at the wife and me and continued doing their thing. I noticed in my mirror that one of their thug friends in a white tee shirt had pulled up behind me on my bumper.
I'm an old Marine Sgt. and I recognized from a combat standpoint that I was at a disadvantage. After five minutes or so they graciously strolled out of my way so I didn't have to run them over.
Folks this ain't Compton. This is Natchez. The thugs have taken over Roselawn, Mt. Carmel, Oakland, Brooklyn, etc... This sort of trash should be euthanized along with their parents. You really can't call them parents because even animal parents take care of their offspring. I agree with lowrider that they should be nutted and not allowed to breed.
There used to be one of our finer "ladies" who lived at the bottom of the hill in Mt. Carmel who would try to back her car out in front of you when you came down the hill. I guess she was wanting insurance money or something.
There are decent people still living there but I have black friends who moved away because of the shootings, burglaries, battery, and drug dealing going on down there.
When is enough enough? None of the aldermen or Jake lives in these vermin infested areas so I guess they just turn a blind eye to them. Somebody better step up before it's too late.

You know, I KNEW something didn't quite ring right with the story. According to the story teller, you are traveling down a road for which you don't seemingly know much about "looking for a mechanic to fix your car." How is someone going to ask you if you are selling the car you are riding in, out of the clear blue. You tell them you are not selling the car and they just open fire on you for that reason? Something's just not right with that tale.

Drug deal or not there were babies in the car! Theses babies had no idea what was going on.

Your little comment admitting you would have done the same thing is a good example of why Natchez is a terrible place to live!

the police need to do something with the people that was shot at also if it really was a drug deal gone bad.....they should take the children to start off with...but all they police can do is arrest them its up to the judges to put them away and everyone knows that is not going to happen

"Siriuseve " , maybe you should do your civic duty as a law abiding
citizen of this community . Make the necessary call . Believe it or not you are in a position to save several young lives . Don't think for a second that the drug dealer will let this slide again that thieving female .
She's no better than the drug dealer she stole from . That "B" needs her "A" kicked for the reckless endangerment she put those kids in . Her children deserve a better start in life . Report it !

i feel sorry for both families involved in this. to not know a persons situation then sit at your computer and make judgement's and snide comments about what u think happened and what u think should happen is not fair. to blame the parents and say to hang a person is beyond me. im not saying that what marcus did is right, but i cant sit by and read theses comments any longer. and by the way the paper makes it seem as if the ppl involved didnt know who each other were...

Unless it happens to them in Natchez, they could care less if we live or die....I hardly ever see anyone patrolling anywhere anymore...but they can sit in their offices and try to catch your running redlights. Then send you a ticket in the mail, but they won,t get off their hinnys to do anything about the crime in town.

Man have these neighborhoods changed? 25 years ago, the biggest problems were kids getting your coke bottles from your car port,, to sell them for 2 cents a piece at Shadyside Grocery for candy and BB's.

i passed by Lovely Lane Church on Morgantown road Sunday and saw the cops with the people that were in the car. I'm just wondering why she was at the church at not at the police station. I know that if I had somebody shot at my car I wouldn't be going in the opposite direction of the police station. Seems a little strange to me.

GMS4844 you say you feel sorry for both families. I never once commented solely on the people in the vehicle that was shot at, only the idiot acttually shooting. What situation was the shooter in, it wasn't like he was a store owner that just got robbed and he was trying to protect himself and his goods in the store. This was some pos up to no good, and shot at reportedly innocent people, and I use the word reportedly very loosely. You make your self sound like your trying to make up reasons that this innocent little boy, popped off a couple of rounds at some good folks, lol.

It looks like to me that some of you don't have kids. Marcus is a 19 year old teenager. He's a kid who made a mistake which will cost him dearly. If it was a drug deal that went bad its sad; a grown woman had her kids in the car to get drugs. Not one time did I see anybody think about her state of mind. Evidently she had bought or done drugs before; she knew the danger of buying drugs. I personally don't do them, but I know you don't try to steal anyone's drugs or not pay them. Suppliers are held accountable for what they have and if they are short guess what, "good night Irene." My question is why the lady driving the car not in jail. What happened to the other person who was there with him? They were an accomplice. Why was Marcus the only one taken into custody? Everybody here is a human being first. Don't condemn people. Times are hard and things happen. The quick arm of the law as I saw that someone said these kids should be euthanized, (put to sleep) you are inhumane and should suffer that same treatment. You are worse than teh scum ofthe earth to want to euthanize kids who need direction, to make thinsg worse you talk about their parents. Since you have the answers why don't you attmpt to help them since you know so much. We are all human and make mistakes. Whether it's a traffic ticket or shooting at someone, its a crime. You need to think about that. Thank God no one was hurt. Don't turn off the lights because this kid has made a mistake. I'm sure there are things all of us have done in the past that could be punishable by law. So think about that before you put judgement on others!
My family lives in Natchez and they are loving people. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.
This bail is unusually high for Natchez and there is definately something else that isn't being told.
The lady driving the car certainly wasn't innocent she knew full well what she was doing and the consequences of what may have happened. She went to go get drugs and not pay for them she should be in jail too, along with anybody else who was involved. The lady wasn't a victim...

I do too red. Like I said even animals teach their young how they are supposed to act.
caesar said, "times are hard and things happen." What an idiot you are. Times are hard so you have to sell dope on the street and shoot at people. "We are all human and make mistakes." So he mistakenly was selling dope and it was an accident he unloaded on a carload of children. You are disgustingly unbelievable.
And vidalia1 Compton has a rep. Natchez is getting that same rep.
