Two arrested in armed robbery

Published Tuesday, November 11, 2008

VIDALIA — Two Clayton men were arrested after allegedly robbing two men at gunpoint.

Kashan D. Wiggins, 18, 212 Louisiana 900 and Jeremy D. Williams, 19, 336 Louisiana 900, were arrested by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Ferriday Police in connection with a Friday night armed robbery in Clayton.

Williams, who was allegedly carrying a pistol, reportedly threatened the victims at a Louisiana 900 residence and left the scene with a small amount of cash, a statement from the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

Wiggins had allegedly entered and exited the residence without alerting the homeowners to his or Williams’ presence before Williams allegedly threatened the victims, who were guests at the residence, the statement said.

Pursued by CPSO deputies and Ferriday Police, the suspects stopped their getaway car at the intersection of Concordia Drive and Greathouse Street in Ferriday.

Three individuals reportedly fled from the vehicle, and Wiggins and Williams were eventually captured, the statement said.

After the occupants of the vehicle abandoned it, the car reportedly rolled backwards into a mobile home — occupied by a woman and three children — on Concordia Drive, the statement said.

Wiggins is charged with armed robbery, and was served a warrant for a previous second-degree battery charge.

Williams is charged with two counts armed robbery, aggravated flight from an officer and simple criminal damage to property.

The incident remains under investigation.

well maybe when Obama starts sending out the taxcut checks, does anyone really believe that????

these guys will stop this stuff........yeah right, they'll take that handout and keep right on drugging, thieving, killing....

but I don't have any paranoia about it getting much worse, it's been bad for a long time, this is nothing new............

police officers when encountering armed violent criminals should excercise all their possible justifiable means .....

home invasion to me would be a capital offense, if they didn't get me first that is

hope they round up the third villan, maybe he'll resist arrest and the officers can do their duty to the fullest extent

Presby, serving warrants isn't easy as it sounds. When officers try to serve them, the subjects will often run out the back door, or the address will be bogus. Family members will do their best to cover and lie to keep their kin out of jail. All warrants have to be notarized and signed by a sitting judge before they can be served. Most subjects that have warrants and they know about it, will go into hiding, then it's like finding a neddle in a hay stack.
