FEMA center to open in Vidalia today

VIDALIA — The Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster recovery center will open in Vidalia today.

The center, at which FEMA officials will help residents process disaster recovery claims, will be located at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center.

The center will be open through Nov. 29, with the exception of Nov. 23 and Thanksgiving Day.

Anyone who is eligible for disaster assistance may use the center.

To speed claims processing, residents should pre-register with FEMA.

To register online, visit www.fema.gov.

To register by phone, call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).

I was walking down the riverfront last night and my friend and I were wondering why FEMA was there... Now we know!
