Come celebrate Christmas in Vidalia

Published Friday, November 21, 2008

On Sunday, Dec. 7, the Vidalia Christmas Parade will roll down the streets of Vidalia. Big floats or little floats, all are welcome to enter to help us celebrate Christmas.

This year’s theme is “Home for the holidays.”

The grand marshals will be members of the local national guard who have served in Iraq.

This will be a wonderful way to celebrate their return. Come out and let’s welcome them back home for the holidays while enjoying the many sights and sounds of Christmas.

Miss Christmas Vidalia High School senior Trista Dembyadn and the 2008 Miss Vidalia Amberlee Collard will be on hand to help Mayor Hyram Copeland get this parade started.

There is no entry fee for floats.

Judges will award three prizes each for the two categories of floats, small and large.

At 2 p.m. we are asking all float entries to go over the levy at Vidalia Upper Elementary and turn around to get in line for this parade. Get your place early.

Come on out and enjoy home for the holidays and the Vidalia Christmas parade.

Sheri Rabb is the publicity chairman for the Vidalia Christmas parade.

What time will the parade start? The article states only that floats/entries are asked to start lining up at 2:00 pm.

lrunnels... I believe heard them say at the chamber meeting that the parade will start at 3:00.

I know that if I'm wrong someone else will come in here and correct me! :)

Can anyone drive in the parade? I know in Natchez you had to register, but i think they let anyone who likes ride their vechicles in the parade.
