Police say Natchez man burglarized store
Published Friday, October 3, 2008
NATCHEZ — Cornelius C. Arbuthnot was arrested early Thursday morning after reportedly burglarizing Holder’s Antiques.
Police were called when the woman who lives above the store reported a banging from down below.
Police caught Arbuthnot, 21, 576 Lower Woodville Road, attempting to climb over a fence to evade the officers. However, he was captured and a sterling silver knife, which was allegedly stolen from the store, was recovered.
However, the antiques store was not Arbuthnot’s original target, Natchez Police Sgt. Craig Godbold said. He originally tried to break into the drug store located next door, but was unsuccessful, he said.
Arbuthnot was also wanted in connection with a forgery ring.

One of the finer citizens of Natchez/Adams County. Is this not one of our crooks that is already on probation or parole for drug charges? If my memory serves me right this is the same guy. Just goes to show another bad decision by the courts. This guy should have been locked up. Instead he now has two new felony charges. Does he get locked up now?

I want to see 3 strikes and you are OUT!!!!!!! I am also tired of hearing about these felons getting out and doing this kind of thing over and over......Put them in jail and leave them there.....time for a tent city like Sherriff Joe has in Arizona.

You are so right red! Trying to break into a drug store and he is a druggie....way to go court system. Take up for the criminals and not protect the citizens.

Like I said before, this is a catch and release program. It gives the Police the practice. You know running, catching, go to court, release, running, catching, etc etc etc.

It would be a nice change, if when a burglar breaks into a window or door to a dwelling they have NO business in, they are met with smoking hot gun barrels. I just really have NOTHING for a thief and unfortunately, some of these folk are not afraid of the system. They are carouseled in and out of the system so much, until they have NO fear of it. They think it is a joke.

He wants to sell his silver knife for a crack rock. They will sell a new cadillac for 20 bucks to get their dope.
He will be doing the same thing in a few days, until he breaks into somebodys house or business that don,t call 9-11.Then we won,t have to spend any more tax money on the little rascal.
