Today declared Tripod Day; city’s kitty honored

Published Thursday, October 9, 2008

NATCHEZ — On the 25th anniversary of the death of the city’s kitty, Mayor Jake Middleton has proclaimed Oct. 9 as Tripod Day.

And in honor of the three-legged ambassador, a memorial will take place at his gravesite in front of City Hall.

A short prayer will be said, and then the memorial will move into the city council chambers where a 10-minute documentary by PM Magazine about Tripod will be shown.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and is also a fundraiser for the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society.

Donations are welcomed.
