Try looking over there by that car accident or that broken down car on the side of the road, maybe by that old lady who is trying to cross the street. These places you may find McGriff, but you won't find the NPD.

I think we need to consider a curfew after 2:00am

There are just too many stabbings and shootings going on and it seems to me that most of them are after 2:00am when the punks and thugs have had time to get high and/or intoxicated, thus having less inhibition and are into their drug dealings and fighting over females, ..................

resulting in violence that a curfew might curtail.

put the blame for crime where it belongs - on the criminals

in a free country you cannot arrest and convict until the crime is done, home of the brave......

it's up to citizens to stop crime BEFORE it happens by participating in crime prevention - intervene by calling the NPD when you know something wrong is going down,

I think the purpose of being "ugly" about the NPD is because of their ourstanding record for letting people escape.

2:00 AM CURFEW!!!

Plus mandatory sentencing of 10 years for FIRST OFFENSE any armed manslaughter, robbery, kidnapping (this should be a capital offense in my opinion) , or assault, especially drive by shooting

The current laws allow too much leniency to the judge on first offenders

I personally know of a 17 yr old (this was a few years back) that was arrested on his THIRD offense of drive by shooting, had also on his record conviction of aggravated assault and resisting arrest - He was allowed to post a bond of only $900 and got out of jail. To me that is totally WRONG and negligent in regards to public safety and protecting the innocent population. These thugs that do armed violence need to be locked upto serve HARD TIME and everyone needs to get the message that armed violence will no longer get a slap on the wrist, lenient, go right back out on the street judgement of first offense or second offense probation only sentence. Go right ahead and slap up down under the dang jail for at least 10 years for trying to kill even on the first offense even if there isn't a killing involved. There is must too much of this going on, there is no respect amongst the street people towards law and order and keeping peaceful.

everyone here knows i am more pro for the sheriff office ant not the police dept. but lets give these guys a break both departments are having a lot of crime now and this is not due to them. Its our fualt just as much these officers cannot be at the right place all the time. We must take and use what we can as good citizens. Before we get too far like jackson, we need to get out and voice a opinion to the courts who keep turing these thugs out. Lets help the sheriff and police and make our voices known to the bad guys that we have had enough Last week the sheriff told people to call when they see a crime and watch our valuables more. we did not do this and generators are still be stolen. come on lets help these officers and send some crooks to jail. they cannot do it on their own because it is not enough of them lets support our law officers

Where'd you find him "commander" at the doughnut shop? My point is this, stop looking for the bad in people. There are enough bad people out there to where you will find them in your 'good deeds' efforts.

Many citizens respect and look up to police, but we often times find those officers doing dirty deeds. Many officers speed and run red lights, because it's the end of their shift. And a lot of them are tempted by large drug and cash finds just like the dishonest. The citizens of Natchez need role models and that should be first priority as far as the NPD is concerned, commander.

You see, people have this idea that everything in the criminal brain is hardwired. The truth is that our brains change every time we learn. Much of what drives these responses is familiarity. If we are use to seeing police doing good deeds, then we tend to mimic them. Simply showing the Natchez citizens they should be afraid of McGriff triggers an amygdala response, so their fear doesn't have to be experienced; it can be imagined. The same as the NPD imagining bad in many honest citizens of Natchez.

Now, show them how helpful they can be in assisting a Good Deeds Officer and McGriff is off the street in a matter of hours. Get my point, commander?

But we can't have every citizen taking responsibility for their actions, then 'commander' will be out of a job. And Krazy Kroger won't have his mandatory 2AM curfew! So, they have to maintain this cycle of fear mongering.

In this way, they can always be scared. Makes them believe in something abnormal and unreal; like the lockness monster, Thugs, Big Foot, the Boogey Man or Bin Laden. (Oooooo, booo!)

I was keeping up with this story when it broke yesterday ? I come back today and find that comments were disabled for that story . What's going on when the ND decides to do this . They disabled teh comments when it became a race argument imstead a thugh discussion.

One well-meaning but misguided African descendent came on and started calling everybody KKk members and called everybody racist because it was stated that the public is tired of reading about this kind of crap all the time. When opinions differed from hers, she started calling everybody bigots and trash and then when people retaliated, they disabled the comments because it became ugly quick.

So, she is not on here today, but if you upset her principles...or lack of...she will instantly call you a racist pig, like she did me and many, many others yesterday. I imagine that she is cooling off and re-thinking her obvious lack of intelligence today. I would hope that she would not come back and start name calling again, because she went as far as to tell people that she lived in teh area and that is completely stupid on her part.

Too many loons on the web to be giving out that kind of information, especially when you just called a whole bunch of people racist pigs...lmao.....

I understand your frustration. I lost my cool in Wal-Mart just up from my house one day when some of them did some similar things in front of me and my wife. I am 6'4" and weigh 270 and they left the store almost running. The clerk was scared at first, but when the little thug trash left out almost jogging, she started laughing. Her manager witnessed the incident and when he came over with his puberty still showing in his face, and asked me if there was a problem, I told him he needed to walk away because the trouble had just left the building. The cashier told us that nobody liked the manager anyways, and she was tickled that a customer had told him to get out of his face...PS He looked just like the thugs that were leaving...I had to ask for forgiveness that night at church, but my wife has told that story to people all over the family...lol

A good place to start is to close our borders and send back the illegals. They are horrible in our area and you can not go into any major store without groups of them being in there and making comments about your wife or daughters. I was asked to leave the Wal-Mart in Pearl a while back when one of them made a comment to my wife as we walked by. He did not know that she knew spanish, when she looked at him and told me in english what was said, I grabbed him by his shirt and was about to commence an old-fashioned $$$whooping when I was asked to leave...and the illegal was left to shop because they said he is right to make his comments if he wanted to.......(haven't been back to that store since)

Then, after we get rid of the illegals, lets make English the Official Language of our country. If they want to move here, they have to speak english in public...or stay home..
Then , lets get the thugs in prison and keep them there...for the rest of their lives..

Those of us that will be left will start to rebuild our country with some real decency.

Three cheer to (redusmfan) any store you go into the Mexicans will gather and stare at you speaking in Spanish, They are so arrogrant about it. You know they are talking about you & having a blast doing it knowing we can't understand. My vote is to ship them back where they can speak all the Spanish they want.I agree we are American & English is our native language so if they don't want to speak it GO BACK TO MEXICO!! Sometimes I would like to be able to understand them but then I'm afraid they may say something about one of my granddaughters & they are not worth going to jail over. There is one think I'm curious about and that is why does WalMart attract so many!
About 14 years ago we took a trip to Boulder, Co. & had car trouble. We had to get a cab and the little man was from Russia and he had my husband read his questions out for him to take hin citizenship test. He was SO proud to become American. His English was not clear but we could understand everything he said.
