One booked in robbery

Published Sunday, January 25, 2009

NATCHEZ — One of the men the Adams County Sheriff’s Office wanted in connection with a Thursday armed robbery turned himself in to authorities Saturday.

At approximately 10 a.m. Saturday, Walter Terrell Jones III, 23, 111 Tubman Circle, turned himself in at the sheriff’s office.

He was booked on charges of armed robbery, two counts kidnapping, seven counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, three counts of receiving stolen property, possession of powder and crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and violating terms of probation.

Both the sheriff’s office and Metro Narcotics have been investigating Jones in recent months.

The sheriff’s office investigation was linked to an incident on Seale Road Thursday, in which Jones and another individual — both of whom were reportedly wearing ski masks — allegedly pulled up in a green minivan and used a gun to threaten a man and demand his money.

The man, who was in the area feeding livestock, ran from the suspects and escaped uninjured, though the suspects allegedly fired a shot in the air.

The armed robbery and kidnapping charges stem from the Thursday incident.

The kidnapping charges were filed because Jones allegedly tried to grab the victim during a pursuit following the initial robbery attempt, ACSO Maj. Jody Waldrop said.

The firearms, drugs and theft charges stemmed from a Metro Narcotics investigation and drug bust on Elbow Lane in December, from which Jones allegedly fled on foot.

Though he was not captured, Metro was able to recover seven firearms that had been in his possession, and three of the guns turned out to be stolen, Waldrop said.

Jones was detained without bond Saturday.

The second suspect in the armed robbery has not yet been identified, Waldrop said.

See ya later this week, Walter Terrell Jones. Don't worry, you'll be walking the streets soon. The judges don't like imprisoning convicts.

Stu I'm thinking: Parris Island, Charles Bronson, The Good Stupid and Ugly, the old west undertaker who had to work overtime when the citizens finally got off their duffs and took their town back, have I shot five times or six times?, judges getting rich letting thugs go free,etc...

But mostly I'm thinking about the safety of my family out and about in Natchez; the good job the high sheriff's boys and Mike's PoPos are doing; and when election time comes around doing all I can to get a couple circuit court judges sent home to work in their yards. Perhaps they can clean them up since they are failing to do so with the thugs the LEO's send to them.
F&F Fish Heads haha

Look at what your dealing with ladybuggs.....In their culture if it doesn't have "R" on the end..... its a term of endearment, no worse than "Negro" Still ,it should have been deleted because it shows plain old ignorance on many levels.

WHOA!! With all those charges, I sincerely doubt this guy will be out of jail within 10 years

If he is then the judge and the jury all need to go to jail too.......

Oh yeah ladybugs, redusmfan, hardcorp, et al. , there are thugs out there that really believe the thuglife is justified

I don't know if any of you read my little story the other day about the thugs that came in my place, approached one of my lady employees with an unwanted come on, got ticked off cause she turned them down, walked out talking about shooting and using the "my n___a" slang that the thugs use. And I mentioned how I had reached for my .45 and watched them go on out.......kinda made the hair on my neck stand up, know what I mean?

Well one of them returned just yesterday... So naturally I had to have a few words with him. What a coward, he denied it all, and was obviously rattled that I confronted him. I told him he had better behave in no uncertain terms, my blood was boiling but I kept cool, as I wanted him to know I wouldn't stand for any more foolishness that might lead to bloodshed.......

I hope the rest of ya'll take the same measures, don't let the thugs throw their weight around in your establishments........

dragon run for office or become a lawyer you probably donot even vote

your kind always talk crazy this system is the best in the world and others want it yes it turns slow the wheel but it turns dear

that's right jack, we have to trust the system, and then verify that the people in the system are doing their jobs

and we have to do ours as citizens too, like dragon says, do not give up your right to self-defense, use it, and use the system too.....

the wheels turn slow to protect the innocent, ......... I've been charge falsely before and was found innocent (a minor thing involving ex-wife) so there is a reason for doing nothing without good evidence..

I can't believe the Nd hasn't put the story up of the lady that was killed in Jackson in a car wreck (she was from Natchez) It is in the Clarion ledger..

Krogers i have to say hats off to you for standing up to the thugs.....

StuWhoMoved I couldn't agree more. An eye opening is just what a lot of people need. Its easy for the nay sayers and ultra liberal minded to sit back and comment on what "They" would do but until that burdon is thrust upon them and the conquences fall upon their shoulders for letting the thugs back out onto the streets, they will never understand. The men and women in uniform do their best to put the thugs behind bars as often as possible but until the justice system backs them and places harsher sentences to "teach a much earned lesson" the thugs will continue to do what they do best, cause mayhem. Semper Fi brother, Semper Fi !
