Teen dies in parish drowning

FERRIDAY — The body of a Ferriday teen was recovered Tuesday after he drowned at Lake Concordia.
The 15-year-old victim, Michael Carr of Ferriday, was reportedly swimming unsupervised Tuesday evening when the drowning happened, Concordia Parish Sheriff Randy Maxwell said.
“It looks like it was totally, completely accidental,” Maxwell said.
Concordia Fire District No. 2 Chief Nolen Cothern said details were still scarce Tuesday night.
“Several kids were swimming, and one of them went down and never came back up,” Cothern said.
The sheriff’s office and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries had agents on the scene. Carr's body was recovered at approximately 8:40 p.m.
“It is truly a tragedy any time something like this happens,” Maxwell said. “My heart goes out to the family.”

Everyone please pray for all the people involved. This was just a few kids who decided to go to the lake and go swimming. The poor parents, on both sides, are devestated. This type incident is what should make all of us step back and realize how sweet and precious life truly is and how quickly it can be taken away.Each year we see this type thing and in case anyone hasn't noticed, death doesn't care about race. God bless the Foster Mother of this young man and his family, the young people who were with him and everyone please keep them in your prayers

Im really gone miss "MiKE LARRY"!!! Thats what we use to call him.I only met him 1 time but that 1 time he was laughin and smilin wit da rest of us at my bestfriend cookout.He was jus chillin and hangin out wit us havin a good time.I hate this happend to him cuz he was a real cool lit dude.R.I.P."MiKE LARRY"

i am sorry for the family and loved ones left. i lost my stepson to drowning this year. he was the 20y in alex. i will defanetly say a prayer.

I FEEL SO BAD FOR MIKE LARRY!! HE REALLY WAS ONE OF A KIND!! ITS KINDA SAD CAUSE I DIDNT GET TO KNO HIM LIKE I WANTED TO AND WHEN HE WAS AT OUR CLASS PARTY IS WHEN HE WAS TRYNA TALK TO ME AND I DIDNT PAY HIM ANY ATTENTION CAUSE I WAS KINDA DRUNK...BUT I REGRET IT NOW!!! HE WAS REAL SWEET AND ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ON HIS FACE YOU, NEVA SAW HIM FROWN. BUT THE LIL THING THAT MADE ME REMEMBER HIM WAS WHEN I GOT FOOTBALL TACKLE AT THE COOKOUT AND MII SHOE FEEL OFF AND WENT OVER THE FENCE...LOL!!!
