NATCHEZ — A Mississippi man claims he was high on crack cocaine and doesn’t remember anything when he allegedly stole a local woman’s car.

The victim filed a report with the Natchez Police Department at 8:45 p.m. March 9 that her car had been stolen from Walmart.

The victim declined and went into the store. Upon leaving, her car was missing.

Through the parking lot security video, police officials were able to identify Oliver.

The victim also gave her vehicle’s tag number, and Oliver was pulled over in Jefferson County on Tuesday.

The victim identified Oliver in a picture line up.

Oliver was allegedly able to start the car with a set of spare keys under the car seat.

He was arrested on charges of grand larceny and was being detained without bond at the cit

How dumb is it to leave an extra set of keys INSIDE the car?? What purpose would that set of keys serve if u locked your original set up in the car?

A typical Darwin Award winner from Fayettenam. So what else is new? When can we start calling Natchez South Fayette? Thugs amuse me.

This disgusts me. I am from Fayette, and know of this man. He is a habitual offender. He was just released from jail a few months ago, and "here we go again!" Nothing new - this man has stolen from a church, he has no boundaries. Why keep letting him out of jail knowing full well he will "strike" again. I feel sorry for his family though - they are really nice people. But, I guess there is always one bad apple in the whole bunch!

WHY CAN"T THE POLICE LET THE DEMOCRAT PUT PICTURES OF PEOPLE LIKE HIM IN THE NEWSPAPER , SO PEOPLE CAN BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THESE CROOKS AND HABITUAL CRIMINALS...... IF CITIZENS OF NATCHEZ KNEW WHAT THESE PEOPLE LOOKED LIKE, WE WOULD BE ABLE TO KEEP AND EYE OUT FOR PURSE SNATCHERS, CAR JACKERS, AND SUCH..............PLEASE PUT PICTURES OF CONVICTED OFFENDERS IN THE PAPER..

OK since when do drug pushers walk up to a car, that he or she knows nothing about and in a walmart parking lot. They only do that on the coners. The sad part about the coners (EVERY POLICE IN NATCHEZ KNOWS WHAT CONER AND WHO THE PUSHERS ARE.) Now was the car broken into? Or was her car left open? If the latter ( MAJOR dum dum ). If the former could he be charged with breaking and entering along with grand larceny charge?
This is not the 50s when you could leave you House or Car open and now worry about someone taken advantage of it.
This could have turned out worst than it did.
humbleone I do agree with you about getting the triple repeaters off the streets for good. 3 strikes and you are out.

How many crack heads offer their drugs to strangers, or anyone for that matter??? Maybe they smoke together. She must be on crack to leave keys in the car for him. Go figure!!

Excuse me "HUMBLEONE" but um I would really appreciate if u would stop putting my uncle business out like that. If they didnt ask about him PLEASE keep your mouth CLOSE. My uncle Charles is not a BAD man. He is good people but makes BAD decisions. He probably be sprung out on that stuff but if u really know him he is very kind hearted and a cool person to be around. Everybody makes mistakes but in his case he made PLENTY. So just dont label him as a BAD MAN or a CRACKHEAD cause ya'll do not know him
