Tourism move to attract hunters, wives great
Published Friday, November 20, 2009
Thursday morning I opened our local newspaper here in Tupelo and a very catchy one-page insert fell out.
Normally, I would not have given it a second thought, but I spotted Natchez in a circle. I have longtime ties with Natchez. The ties go back to Dossett Oldsmobile, Natchez Trace and First Natchez Bank, and they are all bundled up in the form of R.B. Dossett Sr., who is and was my father.
Dad loved promoting all things positive, and especially Natchez. He would have 100 percent endorsed your wildlife refuge package. I know he would approve and join in wholeheartedly. He would not have been a part of the hunting package, but he would have rather been a part of the entertaining of the ladies in Natchez.
Thanks you again for reading this, and I wish and hope you great success in the wildlife adventure.
R.B. Dossett Jr.
Tupelo resident

Wildlife refuge? Isn't this a misnomer?

I think it would have been much better to have put Duncan McFarlane's letter about Mr. Rayne and the Habitat for Humanity than a letter from a Dossett telling how his father would have liked to be entertaining the letters. JMHO

I am a native of Natchez but now live in east Texas. I keep up with my family and friends in the Miss-Lou by reading the online version of the paper each day.
I was told by the ND that they no longer accept "Letters to the Editor" from non-residents.
What's up with that?

For the life of me I just don't get the headline. Someone explain.

is this the Dosset that was convicted of double leins on cars (fraud to the banks) back in the 80's???
it would have been nice if the ND had include some info on what the article was actually about-.......

Krogers I think that was one of them. The main one moved to Hattiesburg. I remember in the 60s he was # 160 on the list to get into the National Guard. He got his draft notice and was moved to number 1 and got in the guard.
In my comment above "entertaining the letters" should have been entertaining the ladies. Like grungebob said there was an excellent letter about Mr. Rayne that wasn't published.
reb there are letters every week from out of state folks. Someone is feeding you a line.

Sam (Sammy) Dossett is the one I was thinking about.
