Students chosen as Mr., Miss Co-Lin

NATCHEZ — Ben Lewis of Natchez and Terecia Council of Fayette were chosen Mr. and Miss Co-Lin Natchez 2009-2010 during recent student elections at Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
The Council name is familiar in Co-Lin Natchez elections. Her sisters Angie and Terika Council both were Miss Co-Lin Natchez at different times, and her brother Terry was Mr. Co-Lin Natchez.
The titles mean the students are ambassadors for Co-Lin Natchez, and have earned respect among students.
Council is a sophomore majoring in medical billing and coding. She is a member of the Student Support Services Club and the Natchez chapter of Phi Beta Lambda.
“The first thing I did was call my mom (Loretha Guice), sisters and brother,” Council said about learning she’d won the title.
Council is a graduate of Jefferson County High School.
Lewis is the son of Mark Lewis and Pam McNeil of Natchez. He is a veteran, currently is a general studies major and hopes to transfer to a four-year college and university to earn a degree in construction engineering.
He served in the Marine Corps from 2000 to 2004, which included a six-month tour in Iraq. He has been a band member for several years, including stints with In Red Letters and more currently Minus 300.
He is a 2000 graduate of Adams County Christian School.
