Multi-year string of burglaries comes to an end
Published Saturday, September 5, 2009
NATCHEZ — Two burglary arrests Tuesday lead Adams County Sheriff’s deputies to a stash of stolen goods and brought an end to a string of home burglaries that began last year.
Adams County Sheriff’s Deputy Maj. Ricky Stevens said the break in the case came Tuesday when a county resident living on Foster Mound Road arrived home to find Jade Neal, 21, allegedly leaving the resident’s house with a bed sheet filled with her husband’s guns.
That discovery lead to the arrest of Neal and his stepbrother Jared Rebold, 22.
Each has been charged with one count of burglary and is being held without bond.
Stevens said since the arrests the case has snowballed and thousands of dollars of merchandise has been recovered.
“We’ve gotten jewelry, electronics, you name it we’ve found it,” Stevens said.
Stevens said he believes the pair is allegedly responsible for possibly as many as 20 burglaries in the city and county that began last year.
“They’ve been in operation for quite a while,” he said.
Stevens asked county or city residents who have recently been burglarized contact the ACSO to see if their property has been in recovery. Stevens said he believes much of the stolen property was traded for drugs.

Hopefully they will do something with these crooks. This is not there first time to be picked up. They have been criminals since they were kids. They need to be picking up trash on side of the road. They Are lucky the coroner didnt have to pick them up.

I'm confused..."Multi-year" and it goes back to just last year?
Where's the "multi"?

When did everyone forget that the past tense of lead is led? I see it all the time now.

Kudos to law enforcement for finally breaking this case.
In other "news",
It sure seems to appear that
when Mr. Koob is involved in story
we can all expect confusion
in story content and grammar.
Sorry Adam, but PLEASE get someone to
proof read before you rush to print. Just
a friendly suggestion from a loyal reader.

law enforcement has done a great job but lets see how the courts
and lawyers can put them back on the streets!

In the writer's defense, I guess last year and this year are more than one, hence multi.

even THAT would only be a "couple".......multi is more than a couple barely40.

I wonder if they had anything to do with burglaries behind Ntz Comm about 2yrs ago...

"multi" means more than one OR more than two;
example: multilevel, more than one level.
Give Mr. Koob a break. His title is correct: it has been a Multi-year series...

law enforcement got them because the woman involved had the sense to get a description of the truck, tag number, and call it in immediately. She was very brave to stick around and get that much, knowing that she was being robbed.

No kidding, freedom! Thank God these two have been taken off the streets, at least temporarily.

as usual,
it takes a lucky and concerned citizen to make an I.D and catch the crooks,
we've all got to be ready to be involved and help our LEO's
good job ACSO and especially the resident, I am so glad the resident wasn't attacked and hurt......

The law enforcement can't take the credit for this. They would still be out on the streets if they had not been caught red handed by the lady. Thank goodness she wasn't harmed when she arrived home.
I know someone that was robbed and hopefully some of their things will be recovered.
I've heard rumors about these two partners in crime for quiet awhile from arson, drugs to robbery.
Now as for the "multi" this is the defination I found:
"A number that may be divided by another number with no remainder."
Let's all take that for anyway we want, the main thing is these two are out of commission.
The thing I have with the police reports is they will report a robbery, but it fails to say the person lost almost everthing of value.
If anyone notices mistaakes with my grammar or spelling I welcome the chance to be corrected, that's how we learn.

I suspect that they are the 'middle-men' and not the actual thieves. They are the ones going out of town doing the pawning.

Why do they let pawn shops continue to operate, theives and thugs rotate in and out all day long,a lot of them bringing in jewlery, guns, power tools, etc. over and over. Why isn,t anything done about these crack heads money source. Where could they sell their goods if all the pawn shops closed, soon as the gold comes in,it,s shipped off and melted down. It is a continual problem and the store owners are not keeping accurate records at all of any proof of ownership, small transactions merely require a name and some form of I D. a lot of the goods are not marked and get resold quickly. One couple brought in a coin collection worth $6 to 7 thousands dollars and sold it for $200.00. I know because i have been working part time in a pawn shop and lot of at the least legalized theft. If they all had to produce a picture most of them couldn,t. Crime will increase more and more and this is one of the MAJOR contributors of it. Some thing should be done immediately,to curb this joke of a business. Stolen goods move freely between these stores at a unbelieveable volume. I guess no one really cares

juju, did you read the article? one was caught in the act - how does that equate to middlemen?
CaptainObvious - could you please leave race out of your comments? - thieves come from all races - and so do good honest people - judge people for who they are and how they act, not what color they are,

It is a good thing it wasn't my wife finding these punks packing off my shi# !! I feel sure that she could easily capped at least one of these purps !! How can these idiots be classified as "alledged" criminals after being caught in the act????? What would it take to convict a rapist caught in the act????? Only in Natchez,Mississippi !!!!

My home is one they broke into on Foster Mound Rd. I have almost wrecked looking for the blue pick up these thugs drove. A witness saw a truck matching the truck they were drivinng leave my home. Why does the article say no bond but the "Record" section list a bond?

I'm confused. You say your house is the one that was broken into. You also wrote March 31 that your house was broken into, are you refering to this article or the one back in March that the three boys were arrested, including Dale Perry from Brookhaven?
Which ever it is I'm glad you were not harmed.
