Two arrested for cocaine sale in church zone
Published Thursday, February 25, 2010
NATCHEZ — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office arrested two business operators for the sale of cocaine in a church zone Wednesday night.
Jeff Holmes III, 36, 1439 U.S. 61 North, along with his girlfriend, Brinza Sproulls, 38, operated the New Midway Lounge, which investigators shut down.
Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said narcotics were being sold from the New Midway Lounge, which is across the street from a church.
“(The arrests were) a culmination of a short undercover operation into the cocaine sells on the north end of the county,” Mayfield said.
Metro Narcotics agents and deputies executed a search warrant on the property after they made five undercover purchases of schedule II controlled substance, crack cocaine, from Holmes and Sproulls.
The sheriff’s office recovered a small amount of cocaine, marijuana, materials consistent with the packaging and weighing for distribution and approximately $500 undercover agents had used to make the purchases, Mayfield said.
Mayfield said Holmes and Sproulls were major suppliers of cocaine for the Cranfield and Fenwick area.

If Adams county, the State of Mississippi and the United States of America wants to reduce crime including robbery, murder, theft not to mention prostitution and just about everything evil. This is where they need to start. Dont slap trier wrists. Make an example of them, If you sell COCAINE you should be locked up and the key thrown away and before you know it this would be a much better place!!! Its gotten out of hand. No plea bargains, nothing. Its by far the worst thing that has happened to this country in my life time. But concentrate on the suppliers more. If there is no cocaine, no one can buy it. Im sick of seeing lives ruined, people shot and everything that isnt tied down, stolen. THIS IS WHERE YOU START !!!

I applaud the adams county sheriffs department on a job well done. However the war on drugs is one that has to be fought first as a community then as a city and state , then as a country ,not just our law enforcement. Otherwise its like standing outside in a storm with a bucket trying to stop the ground from getting wet...the effort will be applauded when the bucket is filled ...but when its poured out to fill again the cycle will only continue...Meaning it was all for naught.

A wall, two bullets and two graves and this part of the problem will be solved. Next supplier you catch, do the same. Won't be long and you will see a change.
