Hateful graffiti appears on apartment complex

NATCHEZ — The Rawes Terrace apartments got an unsolicited paint job recently.
The sentence “John is a dead gay b****” was spray painted in white on a brick exterior wall of the complex.
The complex is administered by the Natchez Housing Authority.
NHA Assistant Director Janice Herbert said the vandalism was brought to her attention Wednesday morning by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
“The sheriff’s department called this morning and told us about it,” she said. “We didn’t know about it before they called. I guess someone else could have seen it first, but (the sheriff’s department) was the first to let us know about it.”
Herbert said after finding out about the vandalism maintenance workers were sent to the scene to assess the damage.
“We are going to get it cleaned up as quickly as possible,” she said. “We are working on it now.”
By afternoon, the white spray paint had been covered with red paint and workers were spraying a chemical paint stripper on the brick.
“This is the first time anything like this has happened here, first time ever,” Herbert said. “We have no idea what that was supposed to mean.”

Whoever did this left some clues - they can spell, they have good penmanship and it probably wasn't someone named John. Taking this information and the fact that no one got a picture, I'm going to say.......... the cougar did it.

As expected, this story fired up the trash talk idiot posters who pollute this space regularly.
This graffiti is a death threat and should be taken seriously. Whoever wrote it should be arrested & prosecuted for a hate crime.

First, you are assuming John is a real person. Second, you are assuming John (if he exists) is indeed gay. If I had to guess, this was pained by a jilted FEMALE or some kids.

Crak, I often agree with you, but not today. I am neither a leftist or a fascist, but I my name were John and I lived in that apartment complex, I would be pretty shaken up. That graffiti probably was just done as a mean, stupid prank, but it is definitely harassment at the very least and at worst is a threat. I don't think it is particularly funny.
