What beautiful spring days the Miss-Lou has enjoyed lately!

It’s a nice change from the cold rain we’d become accustomed to, that’s for sure. And pretty days are great for Spring Pilgrimage.

Natchez Pilgrimage Tours reported good ticket sales on the first week and remains hopeful the entire tourist season will be bright.

The sun shined brightly on a few other areas of life last week as well. Let’s review a few great things about last week.

• Students from Boston University and Hamilton College spent their spring break in Natchez working with the Natchez Children’s Home and Habitat for Humanity. We appreciate their willingness to serve, and we know they made a difference in our community.

• Lily Sims is excelling at Vidalia Junior High School, but eighth-grade is only just a start. Sims has her eye on college and studying to become a paleontologist. Good luck Lily!

• The community went green Thursday in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. Local St. Patrick Bob McWilliams led a green-clad crowd down Main Street for the annual celebration. We are lucky to live in a town that knows how to celebrate.

• Talks are under way to make the second phase of the Natchez Trails Project as good as it can be. The first phase is partially complete — and we love the walkway so far. The community involvement in this project all along is sure to make it a special edition our residents will treasure forever.

With bright days ahead, we can’t help but stop and smile in the Miss-Lou.
