Cordella Marsaw Griffin
Services for Cordelia Marsaw Griffin, 79, of Natchez, who died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at Saint Dominic Hospital, in Jackson, will be noon Saturday at Zion Flower Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Alexander officiating.
Burial will follow at Painter’s Cemetery, in Anna’s Bottom, under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Griffin was born March 7, 1927, in Natchez, the daughter of Levi and Alberta Marsaw. She had been employed with Natchez Adams School District, Jitney Jungle and as an Avon representative. She loved her family and friends. She loved going to church and reading her Bible.
She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Elizabeth, Floyd, Patricia, and Barbara Griffin; brothers, Robert Lee Marsaw and Samuel Marsaw; and grandson, Floyd Griffin.
Survivors include her husband, Edgar Griffin of Natchez; sons, Rogers Griffin Sr. of Natchez, Edgar Griffin Jr. and wife, Cora, of Chicago and Frederick Griffin Sr. and wife, Beverly, of Houston, Texas; brothers, Levi Marsaw III and wife, Claudia and Fayette Marsaw, all of Natchez, Elder Roosevelt Marsaw and wife, Annette, of Hazlehurst, Henry Lee Marsaw and wife, Minnie, of Chicago; half-sisters, Martha Cain and Martha Blake; ex-daughter-in-law, Ella Griffin; goddaughters, Velma Anderson and Lynette Stewart, both of Natchez; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Wayne Griffin, Rogers Griffin Sr., Kenneth Griffin, Robert Lee Marsaw Jr., Roosevelt Marsaw Jr., and Charles Marsaw.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ivan Emile Griffin, Roderick Griffin, Trevis Griffin, Herman Carroll, Leandrew Gaines, Rogers Griffin Jr., Frederick Griffin Jr., Keith Griffin, Markes Thomas and Derrick Marsaw.
