NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Ira Martin Abbott Sr., 88, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, in Natchez, will be 1 p.m. at Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. Jayme Jackson officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Abbott was born Sept. 1, 1918, in Lessley, the son of Ira Martin and Juliet Ford Abbott. He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred Row Abbott; and brothers, Bernard D. Abbott and Ford M. Abbott.

Survivors include his daughters, Anita Abbott Ragsdale of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Margaret Abbott Lippy of Willeston, Tenn.; sons, Ira Martin Abbott Jr., of Mobile, Ala., David Benjamin Abbott Sr. and Malcolm Myron Abbott, both of Natchez; sister, Evelyn Jamison of Natchez; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
