1917 - 2007
VIDALIA — Services for Malinda White, 90, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Heritage Manor Health and Rehab, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church with Minister James Washington officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Ms. White was born July 28, 1917, in White Hall, La., the daughter of Ed and Malinda Banford White. She was a housekeeper for the Murray family until the age of 80. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Shirley Williams, Ed “Bo” White and Gloria Jean Taylor; brothers, Samuel White and Freddie White; and sister, Theresa Demby.
Survivors include a daughter, Havis M. White Blanchard and husband, Fred, both of Oakland, Calif.; a son, Morris B. White and wife, Veronica, both of Macon, Ga.; and sister, Ruby L. White and husband, James, both of Vidalia.
Pallbearers will be Gill Polk, Carl Baker, Hal White, Clarence White, Samuel White and Erwin White.
Honorary pallbearers will be Morris B. White Jr., Michael W. Taylor Jr., Julius A. Taylor Jr., Herbert Williams, Julius Taylor III and Trazell Spencer.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the White and Blanchard families. Mrs. White was a very special lady who I remember well since she lived across from our church during my younger days. Her daughter, Havis, was my classmate and I will pray to God to give her strength
