My most sincere sympathies go out to Mr. Hall, Christina, Holly, Matthew, and Emily. The loss of Joyce will be felt throughout the community, by her family, in her church, and in her numerous social circles.
I met Joyce in the Natchez Garden Club. She was the president, and I was a new member. She was very kind to me and always made me feel welcome. This past year, she called upon me to head a committee, knowing full well I had never done anything like that before in my life. She encouraged me, showed me exactly what I needed to do and how to do it. The committee was very successful. She never doubted my ability, though I often did. She pushed me and gave me the self-confidence to undertake other endeavors. I will miss her very much.
