Geneva Gonnellini Geoghegan, Natchez

1928 - 2007

NATCHEZ — Services for Geneva “Jenny” Gonnellini Geoghegan, 88, of Natchez, who died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Assumption Catholic Church with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mrs. Geoghegan was born Oct. 29, 1918, in Brookhaven, the daughter of Eugene W. Smith and Letha Ann White Smith. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert “Boobie” Gonnellini and William M. “Bill” Geoghegan Sr.; and her daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Clarke.

Survivors include her children, W.M. “Billy” Geoghegan Jr. and wife, Linda, of Lake St. John, Tommy Geoghegan of Natchez and Mary Jo Calcote and husband, Mark, of Smithdale; her grandchildren, W. Martin Geoghegan III, Patrick T. Geoghegan, Christopher C. Geoghegan, Geoghegan Clarke, Shane Geoghegan, Steven T. Melton and John Allen Melton; four great-grandchildren; niece, Margaret Wilson of Natchez; nephew, Louis Spencer Jr. of Natchez; and special godchild, Gloria Gonnellini.

Pallbearers will be Martin Geoghegan, Patrick Geoghegan, Christopher Geoghegan, Justin Geoghegan, Brent Geoghegan, Geoghegan Clarke, Steven Melton and John Allen Melton.

Memorials may be made to the Assumption Catholic Church.
