Clyde Lance Griggs, Ferriday

1967 - 2007

FERRIDAY — Services for Clyde Lance Griggs, 39, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, in Crowley from injuries received in a job-related accident, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at New Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Everette Schiele officiating.

Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Griggs was born Oct. 18, 1967, in Frogmore, the son of Sylvester and Virginia Fletcher Griggs. He was a truck driver.

Survivors include his parents, Sylvester and Virginia Griggs of Ferriday; a daughter, Kenadie C. Whitley of Ferriday; brothers, Russell Griggs and wife, Linda, of Galveston, Texas, Larry Griggs and wife, Gladys, of LaMarque, Texas, Kenneth Griggs and wife, Joyce, of Round Rock, Texas, Michael Griggs and wife, Rose, of Texas City, Texas, David Griggs and wife, Sandra, of Reseda. Calif. and Kerry Griggs of Las Vegas, ; sisters, Barbara Whitfield and husband, George, of Tawanza, Ariz., Regina Griggs of Shreveport, Lorie Griggs of Los Angeles, Sherry Griggs of Santa Barbara, Calif., Holly Watson and husband, James, of Long Beach, Calif. and Jennifer White and husband, Robert, of Cleveland, Ohio; aunts, Minnie Leonard of Ferriday, Ruth Savage of Pittsburg, Pa., Ophelia Booker and Bertha Williams, both of Milwaukee, Wisc. and Theresa Williams and husband, Alonzo, of Natchez; uncles, Joseph Fletcher of Ferriday and Eddie Fletcher and wife, Helen, of Milwaukee; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
