Harold E. Smith

1931 - 2007

NATCHEZ - Services for Harold E. Smith, 75, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Jessie Henderson officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was born Nov. 22, 1931, in Pineville, the son of George Irving and Minnie Lofton Smith. He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company. Mr. Smith was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Tipton Smith; daughters, Elizabeth Baker and husband, Fred, Janet Aubic and husband, Jack; son, Edward Smith, all of Natchez; grandchildren, Heather Smith, Regina Pierce, Jack Aubic Jr. and Mary Beth Aubic; great-grandson, Samuel Pierce; brother, William H. Smith of Vidalia; sisters, Doris Miller of Dollarsville, Texas and Lois Credeur of Pineville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mike McJohnson, David Brown, Dick Gustafson, Adam Skates, Jack Aubic Jr., and Kenneth Tipton.

Mrs.Betty,I"m so sorry to hear about Mr.Harold,I remember coming to your house when I was a kid,out on Pine Ridge Road.I remember Janet,and Edward,real well,But as we know,we all grew up,I"m the mother of 1 son who is 28,and I have 2 grandsons,4 & 2,Mama is 91 now and lives with Carol,my older sister,As you know we just recently lost my daddy George Jamison Feb.25th,2 days after my birthday.But again my love,and prayers & thoughts are with all of you at this sad time,I know its hard because,it does"nt seem like my dad is gone still.
