NATCHEZ - Services for Pauline “Polly” Lofton, 85, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at Adams County Nursing Center, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Greg Kelly officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lofton was born Dec. 29, 1921, near Tuscaloosa, Ala., the daughter of Joe and Susie Schmidt. She was a homemaker and a mother of six.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Lofton; and sons, Jerry Wayne and Walter Kenneth Lofton.

Survivors include her daughters, Lou Butler and husband, Joe, of Libuse, La., Alice Griffin and husband, Thomas, of Newton, Miss., Joyce Buckles and husband, Buck, of Royce City, Texas and Sally Faulkner and husband, Glenn, of Dunn Loring, Va.; grandchildren, Shannon Griffin, Sharon Kay Griffin Walker, Jimmy Dale Butler and Robert S. Butler, Amy Buckles and Tammy Buckles Hemphill; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Shannon Griffin, Jimmy Dale Butler, Robert S. Butler; grandsons-in-law, Chris Walker and Joel Hemphill; and great-grandson, William Butler.

Polly will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
