Luther H. Tiffee, Monterey

1914 - 2007

MONTEREY — Funeral services for Luther H. Tiffee, 92, of Monterey, who died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Eva Church Of God with Lloyd Trisler, Kevin Simms Russell Crum officiating.

Burial will follow at Lone Pine Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

Mr. Tiffee was born Sept. 7, 1914, in Gilbert, La., the son of James and Cora Tiffee.

He was a resident of Monterey, a farmer and a member of the Eva Church of God. Mr. Tiffee proudly served our country during World War II with the U.S. Army for three years.

Mr. Tiffee was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pete, Rufus and Buck Tiffee; sisters, Lala Rushing, Hazel Anderson, Mattie Hamilton, Victoria Atwood and Barbara Morace.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Orell Tiffee of Monterey; daughters, Julia and Paul Avery of Monterey, Frances and Leonard Kellebrew of Monroe and Brenda and Glenn McNeely of Mayna, La.; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren

Pallbearers will be Cam Avery, Brandon Avery, Matthew Avery, Tony McNeely, Matt Helmer and Charles Lanehart.

Honorary Pallbearers will be James Howard Poole, Rufus Tiffee Jr., Tommy Tiffee, Ed Finley, Shelton Seals and Steve Moreland.
