Delores Givens Turnbow, Natchez
1914 - 2007
NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Delores G. Turnbow, 93, who died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at Magnolia House, will be 11 a.m. today at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, in Calhoun, with the Rev. Greg Clark officiating.
Mrs. Turnbow was born Feb. 3, 1914, in Monticello, the daughter of Joseph and Alice Givens.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; a son, T. Dwayne Brown; and a granddaughter, Caroline Shields Brown.
Survivors include her son Larry L. “Butch” Brown and wife, Shields, both of Natchez; daughter, Billie B. Smith and husband, John, both of Calhoun; grandchildren, Kim Clement and husband, Michael, both of West Monroe, Larry L. Brown and wife, Sasha, both of Natchez, C. Sessions Brown and wife, Mandy, both of Memphis, Tenn., and Reagan B. Glenn and husband, Kevin, both of Bolton, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Ansley Elizabeth Brown, of Natchez, Sessions Hite Brown, of Memphis, Tenn., and Kayla Glenn and Ashley Glenn, both of Belton, Mo.; her sister, Stella Hammack, of Zachary; a very special and loving niece, Laverne Rabb, and her daughter, Debbie Hammack, both of Woodville; and many other nieces and nephews.
The family gives thanks to her loyal friend and caregiver, Judy Lewis, and the entire staff of Magnolia House for their love and patient care, and to Dr. Jerry Iles and Dr. T. Pham, and Community Hospice, Ann Cobb, for her comfort and caregiving.
Pallbearers will be Larry L. Brown Jr., C. Sessions Brown, Michael Clement and Elliot Hammack.
Memorials may be sent to either the Sunshine Shelter in Natchez or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
